"Perfectly suited to our and the dogs needs, lovely walks outside the back door."

10.0

Self catering but owner did leave us some free range eggs to use.

Only thing it lacked was an enclosed garden for the dogs to go out into without supervision.

"A great apartment in the middle of nature"

10.0

A wonderful private apartment, with owners who have great local knowledge. Friendly owners, but of course leave you to your privacy - but let you know to contact them if you need anything at all (as they are just next door). Great location beside a river with lots of wildlife and country walks. Really out in the middle of nature. Lots of birds up at the birdfeeder viewable from kitchen table and also a nesting box with a family of bluetits. The owners and the apartment really were spot-on.

"Excellent experience in a stunning part of Scotland"

10.0

I loved the quite peaceful location. The scenery is beautiful around the cottage. The river running beside the cottage was lovely, and the wildlife was amazing to watch.

There was nothing to complain about.

"A great wee get-away-place."

9.0

This is a charming cozy riverside retreat to stay at with plenty of walks along the river or into the woods and is exactly like pictures on line. Alison and Bill, hosts, give you a warm welcome and are friendly and helpful. When shown around first thing put on was the kettle, for a welcome drink especially if you have had a long journey. Cups out with homemade flapjack was a treat. It is a peaceful and a get away from everything place, so don’t rely on internet signal. Plenty of small birds about and a hooting owl at night, with an otter or two to watch out for. There is a cabin and small summer house you can use to sit in with a cuppa and just relax. It suited us very well and dogs enjoyed it too. It can take you 20-30 mins to get to a good inn/ hotel for some food and I would recommend the Allanton Inn at Allanton, the Wheatsheaf at Swinton and the 1902 Bar at the Dunmuir Hotel, Dunbar. It was a lovely place to explore with plenty of walks, not too far from coast and we even got over to holy island. There is all you need for your stay, even a dishwasher. Enjoy.
