The location is right at the start of the gorge walking trail near public car park space 3/4. Good space if you are travelling in group ( you get a whole house to yourself)

Upon arrival, the owner didnt give us any briefing and just left us the key and told us to check out by 10am next morning. He was busy mending the carpark for paid parking for the gorge trail. Overall place has very doubtful cleanliness. Toilet seat has dried up pee stains under the seat, so owner didn't throughly clean before we arrive. Hot water had issues. Initially had no hot water for our shower at all, even after we ran the tap for 10mins. We seeked help from shop nearby to contact owner, but when the owner came he seems very grumpy about the situation. The water was still not consistently hot so we decided not to shower in the house since the night was cold and we had to drive to a public onsen to shower. Night time, after we set up the tatami and found hair inside ( don't know if it was washed??) And I was itching the whole night when I was sleeping on the tatami. You get what you pay for, so if you benchmark as a one night "make-do" stay to do the gorge early in the morning, it's fine. I guess I would go for a better and cleaner place next time, with a friendlier host as well.

Spacious, convenience to takachiho gorge and to yagura performance!

The location is just right next to the entrance to the Gorge. A spacious house with twin bed and tatami bed. There are sufficient heaters in the rooms and halls to heat up the premise quickly if the weather is cold. The place is so peaceful and quiet with great view.

Cooking utensils don't look appealing. Washing machine is out of order.

Western style beds were very uncomfortable- the mats on the floor were much more comfortable but still a bit uncomfortable

Great communication, and the owner was friendly and very accommodating. We had some questions about the check in time, and the owner was very responsive and helpful. The location is great, about a 15 minute walk to the Gorge, and about 5 minutes drive to the town and supermarkets. There is also an amazing restaurant right next door. The accomodation comes with a parking space which is very helpful. We got the whole place to ourselves, and it was very spacious. Our stay was during the winter, and the accomodation includes a heater and air conditioning which made our stay very comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen is well equipped and has good hot water and pressure. It was a wonderful experience!

Have the expectation that the place is very rustic, and you will have a good time!

House more than big enough for our family of 4. Spacious. Full facilities. Very close to the takachiho gorge.
