Ceylon Safari Cottage

Could not be more ideally located if you are heading to Udawalawe National Park - it is literally around the corner. Situated amongst the trees and nature, this is a lovely place to stay with friendly staff and a nice breakfast as well. Room was clean, bathroom was fine and was everything we needed for a one night stay.

No mosquito nets were provided, which was a shame as location means a lot of insects.

Very friendly family, we had the big family room. Comfortable beds and they made delicious dinner for us. They can help you with the safari and they made us also very very good breakfast to takeaway on our safari!

We slept here with 5 persons so a little bit more space to put our stuff would be perfect. They also could not provide us with 5 proper towels. The dinner was super delicious but quiet expensive in our opinion.

The property is in a quiet location near the entrance to the national park. We loved the curries that was served to us for lunch and dinner and how the whole family welcomed us. Pancakes in the morning was a winner. Our host took us on a safari to view the elephants and helped us with our transportation.

Good location close to Udawalawe National Park entrance. A little bit off road, that is good for quietness, but we had to ask to meet us - and the host picked us up & guided to the place. The room is spacious and clean. Plugs are also suitable for Europeans. A/C gives pleasant coolness. Welcome water and sugar cane drinks. Very nice and hospitable owner and his family. Made tasty Sri-Lankan lunch for us, brought watermelon when we asked for additional fruits. He also took us on Safari on his Jeep. Careful driver, knows the Park well, encountered many elephants, crocodiles, buffalos, dears, monkeys, variety of birds. Provided with tasty breakfast at secluded place at the lakeside. The pancakes and sandwiches were delicious. He made our stay and safari in Udawalawe an unforgettable experience.

Everything was fine. Sometimes had difficulties in communication due to weak English, but manage to understand each other.

The rooms were very clean and spacious and was very well located to the Safari park. The staff were so lovely and friendly. They made us a wonderful dinner, organised a safari trip with a guide and drove us to our next location. They couldn’t have been more helpful
