Ein sehr besonderer Ort, ein großartiger Künstler und Gastgeber, der mich als Gast willkommen hieß in seinem Haus, das in allen seinen Facetten das Künstlerische zeigte. Immer wieder spiegeln Details in und um das Haus den Geist und die Gedankenwelt dieses einzigartigen balinesischen Künstlers wieder. 芸術家のhomestayでsukawatiの市場からも近く部屋は綺麗で設備、朝食も良かったが、2階の部屋に登る階段が細い螺旋階段で登りにくかった。

Accès au célèbre marché assez rapide à pied, mais pas vraiment aisé. Mais comme un peu partout à Bali finalement 😉

Nothing like this anywhere else. It is the generations-owned shouse of a well-known local artist. His sales studio is tacked on one end, and his painting studio is across the internal courtyard from where we stayed. His extended family lives around the compound. It is an old, hospitable, and deeply human space. We were only there two nights; we could have felt very much at home for quite a while longer.

Modern, clean, great people

Made and his family are just the kindest and sweetest family ever. I felt so lucky to be connected to them, and their beautiful space. It felt truly like stepping into a little slice of peaceful heaven. I initially booked the apartment up the stairs but they agreed to let me stay in the downstairs little villa, which probably made my whole trip ! Being able to draw with Made's canvases was such a delight. Thank you again for everything.
