Beautiful place with a relaxing atmosphere. The room was simple, but it had everything I needed. The location is perfect, very close to the beach. The family who owns the place was very friendly and welcoming. Absolutely worth the price.

We loved staying here! The room was clean and comfortable and separate from the family home so it felt very private. The family that run it were super kind to us, even gave us some bananas that they grew themselves!(they were super tasty). Would definitely recommend this place!

Huge props to the owners. From the 20 homestays and hotels I've stayed in Sri Lanka, I can guarantee that Lilac Garden was the best. The owners are incredibly kind and thoughtful, which you can see in how beautifully they’ve set up the property and rooms. The (spacious and clean!!) rooms are in a separate building with its own entrance, leading to a (clean!) outdoor kitchen inside the most amazing private garden we’ve ever seen. The bathroom is also spacious and clean, hot and cold water with good pressure, no smell of dampness, the beds are big and comfortable, AC, fan and mosquitos nets are brand new. It’s just a few steps from the beach, which is one of the best in the region for swimming and snorkeling. BTW: If you are interested in a whale tour, book it with the owners as this will be the cheaper "local price" and not some +80USD rip offs offered elsewhere. Same applies to Tuktuk rides, as they have their own vehicle. Trust me, I've seen it all! This is the best you can get in that category😀

Nothing to do with the property but Wednesdays can get a bit noisy because of a nearby club. On the other days it's no issue as it's not that loud and ends much earlier. Pro tip: A pair of earplugs (ask the owners) solves the issue easily!! :-) All in all, an incredible place to stay!

Friendly owner. It's few meters from the beach. Clean and comfortable. We liked very beautiful garden. Hot water and wifi provided. Do not hesitate to book!

Nothing, just one thing to improve, small sheet to cover yoursef during night, for 1 not 2 persons.

Located in the center of town, it's a really nice place with a helpful and kind host. The rooms were perfect, with a new AC and a good shower. I recommend this place highly!
