Lilac Garden Mirissa

If we are ever back in mirissa we would stay again without hesitation. The host family is so kind and generous. The room was so clean the entire property was spotless. One of the best beds we slept in. Good soft lighting for night time. And the access to the beach is one minute from door to sand. You actually see the gate to the home from the beach. 100% amazing time.

So noisy in the evening we could not get any sleep: it was a Friday night and there was incredibly loud music from a close by bar until 4am, which didn't work for us as we had to get up early in the morning.

EVERYTHING was perfect, I could live there!

This place is hands down our best stay during our three week trip to Sri Lanka! Rooms are decently sized, very clean, and nicely decorated. Comfy bed, functional and beautiful bathroom, mosquito net, AC, silent ceiling fan, and super close to Mirissa beach and restaurants. The owner is super nice and helpful and speaks English. The room even has a broom and mop in the bathroom which I appreciated. And so so cheap! Definitely stay here if you get the chance!

WiFi doesn’t reach the rooms; there is a fair bit of noice coming from a surf bar on the beach in the evenings.

Good location, nice staff, clean rooms, good air con, hot water. I didn’t get tea or a coconut as a welcome drink mentioned in other comments though :D

There can be loud parties at night in bars on the beach Pillows are a bit too hard, but that’s a minor problem

The guesthouse is run by a really lovely family and set in their beautiful garden. We really enjoyed sitting outside our room, drinking our welcome tea. The room was comfortable and very clean. We were even provided with a brush to sweep away the sand which was appreciated after a day at the beach. The location is great - just cross the road and walk through a bar and you step out onto a stunning beach.

The guesthouse was a little tricky to find at first. It is on the opposite side of the dirt track to the beach, pretty much opposite Taboo Lounge, and set back slightly 🙂

Great location, you can just cut through a restaurant and you are at the beach. Room was nice and they provided a squeegee for the shower so you don't slip and a broom for the sand. Very friendly old couple who brought me tea in the morning. Really liked that there was spots to hang clothes to dry outside and comfortable chairs to sit at.

I think it's common in town, but I had some bugs crawling around the bathroom. Figured out that they were coming from the shower drain so I just left a towel over it when it wasn't in use and problem solved.

Great location a 2 mins walk to beach. Room had fan and mozzie nets. Bathroom was great with hot water. Small balcony with chairs and tables. Hosts very friendly.

Little difficult to find especially when pouring with rain!
