Bella Vista Mauritius

Very nice view of Grand Baie. (Seaside rooms and restaurant only) The staff were interactive and helpful. Breakfast simple but good.

Ants. Tiny, bitey ants. I first saw them in the bed, then elsewhere in the room, then the restaurant. Extremely annoying and quite painful. My room wasn't designed for large people. There was a gap of less than 30cm to squeeze through to the toilet, and little space to turn around.

Nice view over the bay. Clean rooms.

Once we met the owner she couldn't be more friendly and welcoming. Breakfast cooked as requested. Given sea view adjoining rooms. Much better than the suite wed booked for our family of 5 A couple of problems were dealt with immediately Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the bay is totally lovely

Thereis a fish pool on the ground floor which seems quite lovely at first. But the smell and noise is always present.

The view was wonderful from the balcony. The breakfast was okay, same every day. They make you omelette if you want. But literally just eggs, no tomatoes, onions etc.

The staff weren't welcoming, probably because we couldn't speak fluent French. The room was really dirty and there was paint peeling off the ceiling. We got locked in the building after 10pm without being told. We were the only ones in the building and were not told what to do in a fire. We probably would have had to jump off the balcony. The shower barely sprayed any water. No coffee or tea provided in the room. No other guests were staying there and it is easy to see why.
