Little Yen's Homestay

Conveniently located in what seems to be a brand new "artificial" Hmong Village close to the main road. The staff was very friendly and spoke some english. Simple but clean room that offered everything essential. Good value for money!

Very limited breakfast selection, and mainly for Asian taste. Quite noisy from Karaoke, but only untill 11:00pm luckily.

Nice location between the mountains.

The artificial village it's in has a lot of different homestays which accommodate big groups, so in the evening it's quite noisy. Room itself looks cool, walls made from bamboo, but you can find so much better rooms for that price elsewhere. I guess we would have enjoyed our stay much more if we wouldn't have had awful dinner experience. We ordered chicken with ginger and got boiled chicken without any flavour and it was disgusting. If we told that there's no flavour, they grated raw ginger on top. It would have been okay if it was cheap, but the chicken cost 250 000VND.

Location was well located but overall we didn’t really like Meo Vac. It is very touristic. But the homestay is clean, nice staff and well located. It was really cold and there is no heating, but they did provide a heat blanket which is really nice. Good dinner and breakfast.

We loved the heated mattress pads. The food was awesome, the service was great. My sister and I both had massages and the herbal bath. The massage was firm pressure and we were surprised when our massage lash got on top of the table and squatted over us hahaha a unique experience but we both enjoyed it. The herbal bath was a bit on the rustic side but we loved the lemongrass essential oil and the hot bath after a long cold day on the Ha Giang Loop.

Top homestay

Room was clean and had a mosquito net (definitely needed!). For dinner, you had the choice between variations of Hotpot or BBQ. We took the BBQ which had been a delightful surprise. Different sorts of meat (chicken, pork, beef) and vegetables like mushrooms and potatoe. Very delicious - accompanied by a few Tiger beers, we had a very good culinary experience at this place :-)

We stayed here for one night in a Double Room with own bathroom. Upon arrival, we were greeted a bit unfriendly, but what was even more irritating is the location of this homestay. Please be aware that this homestay appears to be part of a vacation resort, dominated by Chinese tourist groups. Apart from the unfriendly welcome from a staff member, we felt like strangers in this place. The dark room had a musty smell and it did not have a (glass) / fly screen window, only a window shutter. So the choice in the evening had been: mosquitos + air or opressive atmosphere :-( In the morning, we were woken up around 5am by the trampling of guests from shared dormitories above us which had been the base tone for the following two hours. Overall, no recommendation.
