We suggest that owner could add the sign with light at the entrance in case people could not find the trail easily at the night for check in

Very friendly staff which are happy to help you and answer questions. A clean and neat house in the classical Japanese style. It's close to the station and bus stop which makes it convenient. The bath is also great after a long day of sightseeing.

The walls are made of paper, so if your neighbours are noisy you might have trouble sleeping.

I went in the winter and it was very cold at night (the owner didn’t want me to turn on the main heater in the night because it would be dangerous). I also kindly asked him if he could help me with the reservation of a hotpot at Geibikei gorge but he refused to call.

The owner made a great place for travelers, everything is written in English and is very convenient. The house is old and beautiful.

It was convenient for our trip, but it is a little remote for travelers without a car.

I was the only guest for the night. Great common area for multiple people. There is a full kitchen for use and while it is a bit out of the way it was one of the best places i stayed on my trip.

The host was very nice and friendly! The breakfast prepared was also very yummy. The goat was cute too. The property was well-situated for us to visit key sights in the area like Genbikei, Geibikei, Chusonji, and Hiraizumi.

If you're not used to sleeping on the floor, you may suffer sleeping on futon on the tatami (this is not the guesthouse's fault, but something to keep in mind for foreign visitors). The walls are also extremely thin as it's an old house, so you can hear just about everything going on in any other part of the house. The shoji sliding doors were impossible to lock. However, the host does provide some lockers where you can store your valuables. There is only one shower and 2 toilets to be shared among all guests.

Very friendly host, we had a late check-in and he was ready for us to arrive. The room was nice, the common area had availability of tea and coffee and lots of stuff for reading.

It's a bit inconvenient to reach with public transport.
