In Toto Retreat - Garden Route

We had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the river. The room was well equipped with a surprising large bed. There is a nice walk along the river. Take note the room/bathroom is very open plan so its best to take this room only if you are visiting with your wife/partner or girlfriend, since the bath and shower are open plan. The room does however have quite a nice bath and shower facility.

The guesthouse is situated on the end of the street where there are public braai facilities by the river. This can lead to a bit of noise during the day when people come to settle there for the day/afternoon. Not really something that is in the control of the owner, yet something to keep in mind if you are aiming for a more quiet environment.

Het was allemaal erg nieuw en erg mooi. Maar absolute plus was onze gastvrouw Renée. Ze had hele goede tips. Maakte een heerlijk ontbijt en nam de tijd voor alles. De locatie was ook perfect. Heerlijk rustige omgeving.

Truly wonderful stay. Ronald's warm hospitality made the stay a highlight of our garden route trip. The location is beautiful, the rooms are thoughtfully decorated, and the property is well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable experience.

That we couldn't stay longer due to time constraints :)

Great position and a lovely town with excellent Saturday market and lovely vibe! Nothing was too much trouble for our host. Enjoyed our breakfast and would absolutely love to come back!

We had an unbelievably wonderful time at In Toto Retreat in Sedgefield, and it went by far too quickly. After a few very busy days in Cape Town and Hermanus, our stay here was exactly what we needed. From the very first second, we felt completely at home. The location on the “island” is simply stunning and wonderfully peaceful. A big thank-you again to Renée, who was the perfect host and shared so many great tips about the area—thanks to her, we even got to enjoy the best cheesecake around. 😋 One morning after breakfast, we took the kayak out to explore the beautiful lagoon from the water. They also offer free bikes and SUP boards, which we’ll happily try on our next visit—because our stay was far too lovely not to come back!

This place is wow! Renne was the best host so friendly and made us feel at home. Room was massive and bed super comfortable. Location is right on the lagoon and it’s warm to swim in. There’s bikes to rent, SUP etc which is so calming to use in the morning. Breakfast also so so good! We wish we could have stayed longer. It’s a must visit if you come to Sedgefield!
