I booked because of the location, we wanted a rural stopover on the way to North Wales. This did not disappoint. We also wanted access to a kitchen and lounge area - these were not available to us

The description doesn't say that kitchen and lounge area are available only if you book the whole house. The owner is absent, and it shows: the room was dirty, we found nail clippings in the bathroom, hair on carpet and discarded wet tissue in the room. The kitchen being off-limits, either you bring water from your room, or if you are lucky and the caretaker is around, you can ask for a jug of water. One was left in the conservatory, but wasn't enough for all the guests, when we went for breakfast there wasn't enough water for the kettle. The crockery had not been washed very well either. There was a number to call in case we needed anything, but were they going to do housekeeping at 10pm?? Luckily we were only staying one night. If you like the feeling of being a neglected guest and are not fussed about a dirty room, stay here. I have no idea how this property has a such a high rating, Maybe they make an effort only if you book the whole place, but then they should change their business model.

Wasn’t really a problem but staff only contactable by phone. Front door left open all night even though entry code is given. It was also open when we arrived.

Absolutely fantastic house. The property was super clean, same for the room. We loved the big bathroom, I wish I could take it home with me 😄. We didn't have breakfast, but there is an option of a breakfast basket. There are also spaces to relax and a conservatory dining room. Walking distance to a local pub and a quick 10min drive to a bigger city with all the amenities that you need. It was a flying visit for us, so cannot comment on any nearby attractions or places to see as we did not explore. Honestly, couldn't fault the stay.

The only minor bit - there is a train track that goes very near the property, but this is not very noticeable. The trains are very very rare and do not run overnight. I think we heard two during the whole stay.

The guest house was charming, orderly and clean. We had everything we needed. Didn’t meet any staff, but instructions were clear. Love when hosts make a hospitality folder that spells out eating options, etc. Location is that ideal, out in the country (literal farm field is adjacent), walkable to the pub and a short drive to the big town.

Das Haus wirkte modern und die Zimmer waren großzügig ausgestattet. Es gab genug Parkplätze und einen Aufenthaltsbereich mit Lounge-Sesseln vor der Unterkunft.

Die Dusche hat nicht funktioniert, so dass wir uns umständlich in der Badewanne waschen mussten. Bei Ankunft gab es kein Personal und auf unsere Anrufe gab es 30 Minuten lang keine Reaktion, so dass wir nicht in das Haus hinein kamen. Schließlich erfuhren wir, dass unser Schlüssel auf einem Tische bereit liegen sollte. Dem war aber nicht so. Der Betreiber teilte uns dann einen anderen Schlüssel zu, so dass wir doch noch ein Zimmer nutzen konnten (was ursprünglich für jemand anderes gedacht war). Die Lage war zwar sehr ruhig, aber wir waren meilenweit von Restaurants entfernt, so dass wir fast 20 Minuten fahren mussten, um etwas zum Dinner zu bekommen.
