Jamrock Secret Retreat

My spouse and I chose Jamrock Secret Retreat for our honeymoon, and it exceeded all expectations. This hidden gem offers a truly authentic Jamaican experience with modern comforts in a breathtaking setting. Property & Location: The retreat's private beach access is simply magical. The clear blue waters and secluded setting create a perfect romantic atmosphere that's ideal for couples. The property itself is immaculately maintained and designed with a beautiful tropical aesthetic that captures Jamaica's natural beauty. Our room was spotlessly clean and recently renovated, featuring charming tropical decor that enhanced the island experience. The attention to detail was impressive, and the room had everything we needed. There are drinks available in the mini-fridge (for an additional charge), which was a convenient touch. Staff & Service: The staff truly made our stay special. Ms. Bev, who manages the property, is an absolute treasure - warm, helpful, and genuinely caring. We formed a wonderful connection with her during our stay. She also offers additional items you might need during your visit, which proved very convenient. Steve deserves special mention as well. He was our guide throughout Jamaica - arranging transportation from the airport, taking us shopping, and even to Ocho Rios. His knowledge about Jamaican culture and history turned our transfers into fascinating tours. Both Ms. Bev and Steve represent the incredible hospitality that makes Jamaica special. We loved it so much we extended our stay! The connections we formed with staff and locals were unexpected highlights, and we're already planning our return. Tips for Future Guests: - Bring cash for check-in - Budget for transportation (Steve is highly recommended!) - Consider extending your stay!

The only small issue worth noting is that towels aren't automatically provided with the room. You'll need to purchase them from Ms. Bev for an additional cost. This appears to be a "post-COVID policy" to maintain enhanced hygiene standards. However, this wasn't really a problem for us, as the Jamaican towels make for wonderful souvenirs to take home! The only downside was the Wi-Fi, which wasn’t very strong. I had some trouble connecting and experienced issues when trying to send important emails or watch movies at night.

The place was very clean, and a beautiful worm welcome.

Beautiful terrace to sit out side looking at the stars or a terrace with access to the sea with beds to lay and hear the sound of the sea against the rocks. Lovely smell with sage and good vibes.

Nice view. Lots of loungers.

Finding it !! No signage on building , no directions on road and there were 2 properties with the same address separated by an airport in Montego Bay!!! Our GPS POINTED US TO THE OTHER ONE. Our local cab driver was confused and we almost gave up on finding it. And the transportation to the airport advertised was a cab fare we paid for!

No TV, mosquitos were bad

We loved the rooms, location, and the private sea balcony.

No AC was the only negative, but the host does provide a large fan.

It is very clean and Bev is a great host. Nice location walking distance to a beach and places to eat. The owner is nice and has lovely gardens around the house. Was not bothered by the planes but you hear them on occasion but much less than anticipated.

The internet was kind of hit or miss. The rooms are nice and very clean but no bathroom door just a curtain and glass door with a curtain that goes into room (upstairs downstairs seem more private from what I could see) it is very nice but I would have preferred a solid door for privacy going into the room and for the bathroom.
