Beautiful location with fantastic view 😍 Very helpful and accommodating staff. Very good food offered on the menu for all three meals during our stay. Very good value for money 👍

The windows don't have insect screens, so flying insects can come in with the windows open, as there's no AC anywhere in the rooms, or common areas. We were bitten by mosquitoes in spite of the repellent sprays.

Nice and quiet. Also beautiful sceneries and if you are lucky you will see dusky leaf monkeys, big squirrels, birds, butterflies etc. Especially the staff and delicious food.

A charming 1920s bungalow with magnificent views and very welcoming staff. It was good to be away from the busy restaurants and stalls at the top of the hill. The kitchen staff went out of their way to provide vegetarian meals for us.

Private, friendly staff and nice accommodation. Great place to hike up or around other locations from here. The staff and the cook are very nice and helpful.

The train ride can be a little confusing, but the instructions do help a lot.

We had a really great stay at Hickory. It truly felt like home. A summary of what we loved about the property: 1. The location is perfectly situated in Penang Hill with absolutely breathtaking views of Penang. 2. The authentic architecture of the property. We loved the patterned floors in the room and living room as well as the carefully decorated spaces with interesting items and books. 3. The free drinks available all day, different coffee mixtures, tea and chocolote drinks. 4. The very very cute and friendly dog keeping us company! 5. The accommodation was not full on the day we stayed, so we were able to enjoy a quiet stay and almost entirely the place to ourselves. 6. The staff are very nice and the owner very friendly to chat with. They make sure you feel at home there. 7. The accommodation provides free laundry if small patch and reasonably priced for medium/large laundry bags. 8. The food is also delicious. Breakfast is included, we also enjoyed a delicious dinner. 9. We saw lots of wildlife and special mention of the dusky leaf monkeys at the driveway of the hotel. So cute!! The list can go on and on. But really, just book and you won’t regret it! Highly recommend this place for some relaxation, peace and quiet. I wish we can visit again soon with friends or family!
