Woody Westover in Hillcrest DC near Capitol Hill

Absolutely fantastic building, great view of the city in the evening, only 10 min ride from all the museums and cool places, very quiet neighborhood and we felt safe. The host is super nice, always making sure we reach out if something is needed! Big bonus was to have our own parking spot provided by host. Will stay again if we come to Washington! Thank you!

Not a suite. Said has a futon but doesn't. A mat to put on the floor. TV in the only bedroom. Beer in the fridge said it was complementary. Floor goes down. Foundation is sinking. It just a basement. Couldn't fit in the shower. Steps to go down are all broken. Not good for. Handicapped people. Lady that rents it is rude. No places to eat. Didnt even stay..

The location is the best in Washington DC. The room was more like a flat and the interaction with the host was extremely positive.

Not much. The pictures looked cozy and quant. A hotel would've cost about $220 vs. $258 plus a $100 security deposit. Definitely would've been cheaper. Host was very unaccomodating. Too many rules. The shower and bathroom were like a small closet. The faucets barely turned on. There was a wall A/C unit that barely cooled the house. The place was extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant, with sweating while trying to sleep. The driveway was very steep and challenging. Host also wanted to add extra fees for a 2nd guest after the check in instructions specifically said 2 guests. This would never be an issue with a hotel and one could've been booked for far less. Security deposit was also not properly refunded. Avoid this place!

The security deposit and payback time is arbitrary and weird. In my opinion the host is just trying to extort guests. It ended up being a ripoff. An arbitrary $31.30 out of $100 was paid back. Booking.com offers protection, so a security deposit is just a way for the host to extort guests. A/C was a wall unit which barely cooled, bathroom was small and barely accessible, mini fridge didn't cool leftovers, host was unaccommodating, too many rules and miscellaneous charges. The shower and water were not even used the 2nd day, the place was basically unoccupied for 70% of the booking duration. $258 plus a deposit of $100 is a total ripoff! Do yourself a favor and stay in a hotel where there aren't ambiguous rules or inconvenience. Also the host's attitude sucks. Her response is full of gaslighting and projection. It is 'evil' to steal extra from your guests when you refund $31.30 instead of $40. You are on a reputable platform and think you can just make up your own rules. You think because you have a Ph.D you're entitled to screw your guests. I will be following up thoroughly with booking.com. I also have in writing the check in instructions that said 2 guests. The truth will prevail. She says 'FAFO' in her response, how professional. Even sounds like a threat.
