Ehala Family Rest

We are really satisfied by this property. It's very close to a lot of visiting places & the place is very beautiful. It's situated near paddy fields which are apart from the busy town. We would like to give our special thanks to mr.Karunarathna who gave us a super exceptional service for the whole time period. We booked this property for one night & we extend our nights due to our satisfaction. I recommend this place to everyone with my experience.

Top floor double room with balcony: there is no Air conditioning, only the fan was available which we didn't note on booking our stay. Staff kindly provided us with another fan.

We WILL be honest about this place. We stayed in the upper room with balcony & view. We booked 3 nights but decided to leave the place after 2 nights due to the many insects/frogs in the room and bathroom. But there's more. The first day we arrived we put our backpacks in the room in the afternoon. Later on there was an invasion of ants going to our backpacks whilst we didn't have any food in our backpacks. We told the owner and he came to spray the ants and clean the room. He said it's probably because we might have food in our bags, which I told him we didn't. That evening we had three frogs in the bathroom. It was very inconvenient, especially as they were about to go into the room from underneath the bathroomdoor opening. The same thing with the ants and frogs happened the next day. The amount of ants in the room, even when not having any food, is unbearable. Spraying didn't help as they come back the next day. The owner took out the frogs the first night, we did the second night. But new ones kept popping up. The morning we left we found a huge centerpie in the room. We freaked out as it was actually on one of us while we were getting dressed. Besides the insects, the accomodation doesn't have Wi-Fi (only if you stay more nights, will the owner put credit). The bathroom had a very faul, disgusting smell coming from the shower drainage. The water coming out of the sink also has a really bad taste and light orange color. The room has a nice spacious balcony with a beautiful view of the ricefields but in the evening there are so many insects it's impossible to sit and relax on the balcony.  We even found a centipede in our clothes the next morning when we got dressed. Last but not least, the name doesn't fit the property. It says family home, but it lacks atmosphere and feels empty.
