Annie's Guest House

The guest house is in a good location, near to the seafront and to the shops and restaurants. All the plug sockets had USB charging points, which is a big plus. The breakfast was very good. June, who looked after us, was lovely.

Communication wasn't very good - I asked a question but never got a reply. The ?owner sent me a message regarding checking in when I was driving there so didn't read it till I arrived - she then got quite shirty with June about it. The room was very cold and we felt as if the owner didn't want us to use the heating. On the first night we were sitting with our coats and scarves on to keep warm. The dining room was similarly unheated. The temperature outside was below zero the entire time - we needed heat (we only heat our own home to 18C so we're not spoiled softies) The bathroom was extremely small and the shower was quite feeble. There was also no plug for the basin so had to have showers when we might have had a quick wash. There was nowhere to put any clothes that you couldn't hang up. No mirror near a plug socket (for drying hair) The reviews for this guest house were good so I was very disappointed with it.

The picture on line was not the same room as we got and we had no heating.and the cleaners did not clean properly find sweets out the bed.

I stayed here to attend to family business. So was out all day only returning at night. BUT the time I spent in my room at night was lovely. Cosy private AND the bed was beautiful. I didn't interact with the staff Linda and June and only met them on arrival. I respect that they valued my privacy and June couldn't do enough for me when settling in my room . Overall my stay was fantastic and provided me with much needed rest as it was difficult family business I was in the North East for. Thank you 😊
