GBStaff were friendly and helpful, very clean room and comfortable! Nice touch being able to help yourself to snacks and ice creams! Guest fridge as well to put drinks and food in!
The ensuite shower room was very tiny and my husband struggled to use the facilities! I noticed that other guests said how small the ensuite was and I thought they were being picky but it's true! It's a shame because everything else was fine!
GBFriendly staff. Good breakfast and comfy bed.

Nothing not to like
GBStaff were welcoming and friendly. As I checked in, the lady on reception gave me a small guided tour of the hotel to show me where everything was and took me to my room. The room was lovely and clean and a bonus was that I was looking directly over the car park so I could keep an eye on my motorbike. The breakfast was exceptional. A bowl of cereal of my choosing followed by a full English breakfast was what I needed for the journey home. And best bit was it was all included in the price so no nasty hidden charges. An even bigger surprise was in the guest lounge they had a fridge full of bottled water and also a mini freezer filled with ice cream which was complimentary and even had snacks such as crisps, popcorn and sweets which were also complimentary so there was no need to pop out to the shops if I fancied a snack. Overall, if you like a hotel that still has that old school guest house service feel, then Kings Lodge is definitely a good choice. They really do look after you well.
Walls seem a little thin so could hear doors slamming which was unpleasant. The TV worked ok but every now and then the picture went but felt this was more due to a loose connection of the TV Ariel than poor signal but I had my laptop with me for Netflix as the TV in the room wasn't a smart TV.
GBLovely hotel.staff very friendly. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. It was very nice to be able to help yourself to ice creams, bottles of water crisps, biscuits and sweets.
Room was a bit on the small side. The shower power was low and difficult to get the right temperature.
GBThe fried breakfast was excellent. Andrea and her family made sure they spoke to all the guests every morning and were very friendly. A slight niggle was that breakfast was set only between 8.30 and 9am so a bit of a tight squeeze for people like me ( lol ) I really liked the free bottled water, sweets, crisps and ice cream on offer. Such a nice touch and I notice a lot of other guests have commented on this. The free forecourt parking is handy and should this be full there was plenty of free street parking alongside the sports facility opposite. The room overlooked the private Norfolk Square so very quiet. Really good location. Less than five minutes from the sea front. I managed to soak the bathroom floor one morning and used towels to mop it up. I hoped the soaking towels would dry during the day but I neednât have worried as they were all replaced while we were out and a bath mat thoughtfully added !! Nothing more was said so thank you.
The bathrooom shower was a little on the cosy side and I always managed to run the shower too hot or too cold. But thatâs probably down to me and plumbing. As mentioned earlier the window for breakfast was only 30 mins but that isnât a problem for those who can get their act together.
GBExcellent location, clean, comfortable, excellent host.
