Memorable Stay at the Heart of Sarlat Les Cordeliers is truly a gem, nestled in the heart of the medieval city of Sarlat-la-Canéda. From the moment we arrived, Susan and Steve made us feel genuinely welcome—like old friends returning home. Their warmth, presence, and attention to detail set the tone for a stay we’ll remember fondly. The house itself is impeccable, steeped in history and beautifully maintained. Our room was spacious, serene, and spotless, with a bathroom that felt more like a private spa than a guesthouse amenity. Breakfast was a true delight, served in the magnificent 1800s dining room—elegant and generous, the kind of setting that invites you to slow down and savour every bite. Susan and Steve’s recommendations for restaurants and local discoveries were spot-on. If you’re looking for comfort, authenticity, and a deeply hospitable experience in the Dordogne, I can’t recommend Les Cordeliers enough. A rare find. Un séjour mémorable au cœur de Sarlat Les Cordeliers est une véritable perle, idéalement située au cœur de la ville médiévale de Sarlat-la-Canéda. Dès notre arrivée, Susan et Steve nous ont accueillis avec une telle chaleur qu’on s’est immédiatement sentis comme chez nous. Leur bienveillance et leur souci du détail ont donné le ton à un séjour que nous n’oublierons pas. La maison est magnifique, chargée d’histoire et entretenue avec le plus grand soin. Notre chambre était spacieuse, calme et impeccablement propre, avec une salle de bain digne d’un petit hôtel de charme. Le petit-déjeuner, servi dans une splendide salle à manger datant des années 1800, était un vrai moment de bonheur : généreux, raffiné, et servi dans un cadre qui invite à savourer l’instant. Susan et Steve nous ont aussi conseillés avec justesse sur les restaurants et les découvertes locales. Si vous cherchez un hébergement mêlant confort, authenticité et accueil sincère en Dordogne, je recommande Les Cordeliers les yeux fermés. Une adresse rare.

A beautiful building set at the top end of town, perfect location

The hosts were welcoming and so hospitable. We loved the breakfast (and second breakfast too) each morning. The decor is gorgeous and the rooms very spacious. There is free parking nearby and the location is perfect to explore Sarlat and nearby towns. Thanks so much for our stay Susan and Steve! We hope to be back one day.

This property is for the matured clientele. The room was huge, the AC was quiet and efficient! The staff/ owners were so nice and helpful. The location was one that you cannot beat. It was close the everything and yet so quiet.

There was no TV but that is not unusual for a lot of the France hotels/ BB.
