You wont find a more conveniently located hostel. Literally on the other side of the beautiful train station. The owner was very helpful and did things to make my stay more comfortable. The hostel is a cool place filled with interesting things!

Host is friendly and helpful,and he gifted me a cup noodle after marathon while all around is close. Train station and parking is just across the street. House is old Japanese style but clean.Bed comfortable.

4 trains/day only in each direction. Very few restaurants nearby and close early.

Wonderful host and the dinky railway line that drops you off right at their door is adorable and even has a model railway collection in the rail car! Host most helpful with all aspects of checking in and full ideas for activities while in town. Also he offered to take us out to witness the fireflies which were in season - a truely magical event. We are so glad we visited!

The only thing I didn't like was the pictures in the Booking.com which I felt underplayed the property and its charm - albeit with a rather chaotic layout e.g. 3 rather staircases but none-the-less the property worked and we both had the most relaxed night with deepest sleeps of the trip so far.

The host (Ono), was extremely hospitable, and was more than happy to tell me about the little town he called home. He was always brimming with suggestions of where to go, and always ready to have a chat. I am also indebted to him for allowing me to borrow a bike from the Guesthouse to explore the magical Shimanto River valley; it is an experience I could not recommend more.

Unfortunately, it has to be said that there is not a whole lot to see in the town, and food options are rather limited, though realistically you should know that coming in when you see where it is on the map, and it hardly detracts from the charm of the place. The host and the townspeople also speak very limited English, but that is by no means a slight on them; some basic Japanese/ Google translate will easily make up for any gaps in understanding.

It was a great location with great staff. He was very helpful. I just wish I could’ve stayed longer than one night.

My party had mechanical failure with one of our bikes when we arrived in the middle of a snow storm, and Ono-san went completely above and beyond to help us solve the problem and get where we wanted to go. The rooms were also very clean and nice. Thank you so much for your help and for a wonderful stay!
