Alta Marea Sorrento

Marco is the key to the fine time we had at his location. He is always available, consistently gracious and attentive, and ensured we got to and from Sorrento for day trips, and onto the boat trip he assisted us in arranging. On the last day, when the taxi did not arrive, Marco made two trips, carrying our family of 6 to the train station in Sorrento. Amazing service! The staff at Alta Marea are friendly and helpful also, and our rooms were spotless every day. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean, air conditioned and right on the beach.

We knew this was somewhat of an out of the way location, frequented by locals on weekends, so no surprises there. And Marco helped get us wherever we wanted to go. There are no little markets nearby, which we missed for picking up fresh fruit, etc. A car would eliminate all concerns, but we had chosen not to drive this time in southern Italy

Marco was fantastic! Always available to assist with transport. Also gave continuous advice especially on the best tours to ensure great experiences. (See Amalfi coastline by boat). Room had wonderful views of the sea and beyond. Relaxing location away from the crowded tourist areas but with Marco you are only 15min away!

The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. You are literally on the beach, so the location is great, and there are restaurants right next door. Breakfast of a cappuccino and large croissant was very good. However, the absolute best aspect of Alta Marea is the owner, Marco, and his staff. it was like staying with family and he could not have been more gracious and accommodating. For a taste of the culture and hospitality of Italy, you can’t find a better accommodation.

It is remote, so unlike other places we visited, walking to restaurants, sites, shopping is not really feasible. The only thing that would make it better would be to have ice available to guests (which, apparently, isn’t a thing most places in Italy.)

We loved our stay, confortable and clean rooms, wery good restorant with moderate prices, nice and quiet place, but first and above all hospitality of owners and staff. All of them are wery kind and helpful, but I must especially say thanks to Marco who was wonderful taking us when ever we nedeed by car, patiently explaning everything, always willing to help etc. Summa cum laude for all!

The entire staff was super helpful with us. Marco not only told us about the interesting history of the place, but he also gave us several important tips during our stay, about the tours and the logistics also. Every time we needed a ride to the center or from the Sorrento to the Hotel, he was ready to help, Marco was very kind and with all the logistical support (everyday), he picked us up at the train station in Sorrento and drove us to the hotel. And when we had to leave at 5 am to the Airport, he gave us a ride to the taxi drive point on the road, he was really kind in be there to support us in all the moments of the trip. I've traveled to many places and stayed in many hotels in the past, but I've never had near as efficient support as Marco and his team gave to us. I strongly recommend.
