South Valley

I was in the penthouse apartment. The view was astounding from the enormous balcony where I was happy to just sit and look out especially sunsets over the Med. The space of the apartment, especially the bathroom (that also had THE view!) was really well done. The open plan kitchen/dining/lounge was fabulous and had excellent air conditioning. The convenience of a supermarket across the road was an added bonus. Parking was convenient on the road in front of the apartment, though there is parking behind the building if none had been available. There are a few steps up to the lift, plus 1 floor of stairs up to the penthouse (the lift only goes to 5th floor). But the host helped me with my bags up to the apartment. The penthouse is the only apartment on the top floor. The bed is very soft so if, like me, you prefer a firm mattress you can sleep across the foot of the bed like I did :) but that’s just my personal choice. Fabulous apartment to do washing and dry them in the sunshine/wind of the balcony. Really lovely apartment to spend extended time, with a well appointed kitchen, comfortable dining chairs.

Proximity to Agrigento and parking. Bathroom was good. Space was good.

Dishwasher broken. Not enough cups and didn’t have tea towel but these two items were brought to us on the first day.

It wasn’t clear what South Valley was in relation to the building. Confusing to figure out the rooms but owner was available to help. Shower was moldy and no place to put soap except on the floor.

Super central location. In a few minutes you walk into old city center. There is also a supermarket opposite the building, and you can easily gofromthere to the temples etc.

It is what it is and what you pay for, small room. But for that price it is good value for money. It is mainly a place to sleep, not to spend the day inside

We did not have breakfast.

We absolutely never saw the proprietors personally.

Location was superb

The flat had an astounding view down to the sea and over the valley of the Temples. It was modern and airy, well equipped and comfortable.

The walk from the station was bumpy and long, and access to the old part of town was very steep, although it could be done in about 20 minutes.9

Great position in a very quiet town. Little else to do except the temples, which are some of the most impressive I have seen in my 50 years on the road.

The amount of garbage thrown by the side of the roads is appalling even by Sicilian standards.
