Guesthouse Kyoto Arashiyama

It's a beautiful traditional house with the charm of the real japan - sliding panel doors, tatami flooring, etc. It's located in a quiet Arashiyama district far fat away from all the buzz of the tourists. The accommodation provides free bikes if you wish partake in some cycling. The best part was the wonderful owner who was the most pleasant and hospitable host I ever encountered. He even gave a little goodbye present. Would gladly return once I visit Japan again!

貸切で（一軒家を）ゆっくりくつろげた点、目的地の映画村に非常に近い点、コンビニやスーパーが徒歩10分以内にある点。

枕が低くて寝ずらかった点。

Me and my sister stayed at this guesthouse for the weekend and it was a lovely stay! The room was very big which included a big sleeping place (with TV), a kitchen and a nice bathroom. There was free tea, towels ... everything was great and I definitely recommend this guesthouse to anyone that wants to visit Arashiyama. The man at the front desk was extremely nice and polite, also had a good level of English which is very good for tourists. He also gave us a little present when we left which was an extremely nice surprise. This guesthouse was a 10/10 and I recommend it to everyone!

一家日式民宿，老板夫妇非常友善。房间设施齐全，有冰箱、电磁炉、锅碗瓢勺，可以做饭，洗手间和浴室非常干净。卧室里有一台很有年代感的 14 寸松下电视机，打开电视机，非常巧合正在播放电视机《血疑》，一下让我感觉回到了 80 年代。 民宿距离地铁站步行十分钟左右，离民宿步行五分钟有一家大超市，采购也很方便。 我在这里住了三天，住宿体验很好，退房时老板还送了一份小礼物，非常感谢！

如果非要找点问题，就是晚上偶尔会听到外面小巷里摩托车声音，但是这不应算是民宿问题。

The owner of this guesthouse is, in my own experience, the kindest I have ever dealt with. His welcome was very warm, and when we left he gifted each one of us with specialty tea from Japan. He was always smiling, and he let us check in even though we didn't have cash with us, accepting we would have paid later. Lovely person altogether. The location is a bit far from the city center, but very well connected via bus.

The room was old, not very clean, needed some maintenance especially in the toilet and shower areas. It's lovely to experience the tatami+futon room setup, but the futon in this room was flat to a point you just felt you were sleeping on the floor. My knees didn't enjoy it much, to be honest. And, on top of that, sleeping on the floor of a dusty room isn't really ideal, it turned my allergies on quite badly. At one point, we almost decided to leave but we had paid already, so we stayed. I wouldn't really recommend this, there's hotels in the center that cost you a similar amount.

Great location in a less busy section of Kyoto. Used the location to store luggage and get to Shinto shrines in the northwest part of the city. We received a tea sachet as a parting gift when we left.
