Guesthouse Fuki Juku

The guesthouse offers breakfast and dinner, both were excellent in "gokan" (satisfying the 5 senses). The hosts were attentive to every detail, taking great care to create an unforgettable experience for their guests.

Anything that was slightly uncomfortable (sharing a bathroom, sleeping on a futon) was completedly expected and part of the experience of staying in a traditional home.

Best place we stayed in Japan! Hosts were very hospitable. Both dinner and breakfast were super tasteful. The surrounding area is amazing. Simply a fantastic place to stay!

We loved every aspect of this stay - from the clear communication at the very start, through to the beautiful home and the MOST welcoming hosts! We were kindly picked up from Koyasan, driven to the accomodation, then the next morning driven back to a train station to head to our next destination. The dinner and breakfast provided was delicious - one of our favourite meals of our two week trip. My girlfriend was suffering with surprise allergies that night - the hosts went out of their way to provide her with anti-allergy medicine and eye drops - hugely appreciated. Communication was fun and easy using Google Translate. 10/10 - highly recommended to anyone visiting Koyasan!

Everything about our stay was just perfect. From being picked up at the train station, delicious homemade meals with records playing in the background, a beautifully appointed home, friendly and helpful hosts, riding through the countryside on electric bikes and being driven to & picked up from Koyasan. Such a special experience.

Authentic experience in a mountain guesthouse, managed by a kind couple. The place is interiorly fournished in the traditional style with a last centiry-themed (50/60/70s? - not quite sure, but it is beautiful) dining room. The dinner and breakfast were superb! The hosts offered to guide us to koyasan (one hour drive one way) the next day. We were running a bit late and the hosts very worried about us - we want to say thank you once again for your patience.

the guesthouse is located in a beautiful and peaceful town in the woods far from the city bustle. the facilities are tastefully decorated with a retro style, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean with a modern toilet. the best part about my stay was definitely the kindness and friendliness of the hosts. they provide a free shuttle service from the nearest train station and on the way to the guesthouse they were kind enough to show me around the area and explain how life works in an authentic japanese village. during the following days they went above and beyond and offered to give me a tour of an ancient town as well as nearby shrines, temples, ryokan and sakura in bloom. I loved both the tour as there were no tourists around and I could see the most authentic side of japan, and I appreciated the enriching conversations we had. on top of all that, akemi’s cooking is simply delicious. I really felt at home and I would definitely recommend to spend at least a couple of nights in the area. I hope I’ll come back soon!

Akemi and her partner are outstanding hosts. This lovely experience in their guesthouse deserves a 11/10! Everything was farb over what we were expecting. One of our best experience in Japan (and we have already spent several months touring in Japan and visited between 30 and 40 different accommodations!) Everything was perfect, even the driving instructions through narrow mountain roads to reach Mt. Koya or Tankawa Onsen :-) Nice and lively evening discussions with and her husband (thanks to Google translate) ; gorgeous meals. Even the toilet-experience was the most technological we experienced in Japan :-) I want the same at home !

Beautiful guest house in idyllic surroundings Tastefully decorated with lovely bedroom and bathroom facilities . It gives you the truly Japanese experience and yet it feels like a home from home The breakfast and dinner are absolutely magnificent . Best food we had The hosts are super friendly and accommodating . They are going out of their way to give you lifts everywhere We enjoyed our stay so so much and we recommend staying at the Fuki guest house unreservedly!
