Dutch Bay Beach Cottages

The terrace and private beach are great.

Expensive for what it offers. You aren't given anything: just toilet paper. They don't clean much. All rooms have no windows to the outside. There are 6 rooms in total along a narrow corridor, with no fire extinguishers, no smoke detectors, no emergency lights, no escape and at night the owner locks the doors to the outside. It also rains inside. The place should be shut down by the fire department.

Direct on the beach (like many others)

This Is my first negative review, but I recommend to avoid as much as you can this Place. We should stay 1 week but we move in 5 minutes. There are stained sheets, no towels; the fridge smells like hell, there is no Windows (the Windows that you see in the pictures face a covered alley), it is full of insects (they bite me twice just sitting on the bed 2 minutes), and the entrance is full of rubbish.  Why scam? Cause they never ask why we move after 5 minutes, they are only interested in charging you the first night. So they wanted 75 USD for 5 minutes without doing anything or offering something. And last but not least, 75 USD are double the better and cleaner hotels all around. In the days after we meet other tourists scammed likes us. Stay away from here.

The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and good for swimming.

Not a lot of food options around. The rooms face a internal corridor instead of the beach so no natural daylight.

Ramanan, the boss, is the most kind host I have ever had. He was always willing to help us, negotiate prices with other people, and gave us amazing advice and recommendations that made our stay incredible. I would recommend everything in this place, and I am sure that this place it is managed by the most kind and helpful person in all Trincomalee. Fully recomend it, and thank you and greetings from Spain.

Everything was great

Ram, the manager is friendly, helpful, & kind, good English, he is very attentive, caring. Location is fantastic, lovely shared terrace, beach front, lovely beach, swimming, snorkeling about 500m away, interesting neighbourhood, some lovely old houses remain, close to Trincomalee town, we're coming back in a couple of weeks.
