Bed was comfortable. The layout was good, light and airy.

The shower didn't seem to have much of an option to control temperature in Room 8. We ended up having scalding water and couldnt take a proper shower.

One of the best welcomes I've received. The room was tidy and well equipped with kitchen facilities I hadn't been expecting. The location was perfect for what I had planned. There was easy parking in a nearby street.

I struggled to find the address as the signage was small. I got there late and so missed out on onsite parking options. While there was nearby parking I had to carry my luggage from a little walk away and then up several flights of stairs, good workout.

The owner made sure I had some gluten-free options for breakfast, and was let us leave the car a little bit longer - all very much appreciated. The room was great - very well equipped.

We had a very mixed stay at El Murrs. First of all, I was led to believe by Booking.com that I had booked a Bed and Breakfast. I then realised that this is a self-catering establishment but they do provide a basket of breakfast items for you to use. When we arrived, we were met by a pleasant lady who rang her boss to find out what room we were in. She then kindly carried our case up to the top floor and showed us room 8. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and the hot water excellent. However, there was no useful information in the room like a contact phone number, wifi password, local shops, buses etc. After settling in, we went downstairs and spoke to the lady to find out the wifi password. She couldn’t help us and wasn’t sure what we were talking about. Eventually, another resident helped us. Our breakfast basket contained 2 cereal boxes, some specialist teas (camomile, peppermint etc), hot chocolate sachets and 2 Pain au chocolate (but these were out of date). There was also a box with slices of bread and in the fridge, pats of butter, jams and milk. We couldn’t find any coffee so bought some from a local supermarket. After breakfast the next morning we caught the bus to Bournemouth Pier. The property is well located for the bus stop and buses are frequent. When we returned in the evening, we found that the breakfast basket had not been replenished. We couldn’t find anyone to ask about this so again visited the local supermarket. The next morning, all set to make our breakfast, we found that there was no electricity. As this was our last morning we just packed up, planning to go out to a café instead. We did find someone to speak to who apologised to us but when we said we couldn’t find anyone the day before, she just said, ”well we’re not a hotel.” We understand that these rooms are self-catering but some sort of reception or contact number would have made our stay much more pleasant.

Lack of communication with host or staff while staying. The breakfast - just say you are a self catering establishment as it is misleading to say you provide breakfast, you then appear on booking.com as bed&breakfast
