Apartment Chinatown 303

Potentially very good. Great location for city centre. Heating working well on a cold day. It has been a good apartment in the past, small but suitable for a quick stay. However the whole experience was spoilt by the details.

The details and broken equipment the whole place. Seriously needs refurbished. Entranceway sliding doorway very difficult to use. Heavy and no proper handle. Lift ok, but what has been reception filled with stuff lying about. Into room, at first looks ok. Small but reasonable looking bathroom/shower area. Lots of things let it all down. Bathroom glass sliding door doesn't run properly, very heavy and no door handle on inside, broken off I think. Shower controls not marked as to what does what, water hot but never got the flow very good. Sink drain blocked so doesn't drain well. Overall scruffy and needs a refurb. In the room the window blind is broken. Bedsite light also broken, no pull cord. One cup for a drink (its a double room?) and that had a massive chip out of it. Shame as there was a decent kettle and a good range of drinks. So, has been good place in the past, but now disappointing and I won't consider it again unless refurbished.

Lovely cosy and warm room, great location. Hosts were lovely on arrival and departure. Good value for money . Would stay again 😊

could maybe just do wit a little tlc. New blind, shower curtain etc but didn’t impact our stay. It was noisy but a Saturday night in the city centre it’s to be expected and again wasn’t a problem for us

Small and comfortable for price

The heating, location,kitchen and early check in

Could not adjust the temperature of the shower. Was set to max heat. Couldn't shower as a result. Used the basin to do a strip wash. What a shame because it was otherwise a great place.

The room were exceptionally big and cozy with the heater on. The washroom was also big. Toilet paper is behind the sliding medicine cabinet mirror. There is a washing machine (2 quid) and dryer around the corner of the hallway, you could hear it as you got close to the machines - but not from the room. It's close enough to the restaurants/drinking/party areas - 3 minutes to The Gate. It's close to the main train station - about 8 minutes walk to Newcastle Train Station. Loads of Chinese restaurants and Boba Tea shops align the street. There is a shared kitchen. The ad does not sell it's current biggest selling point: There's an Asian grocery store right across the street from the property. The room came with a kettle and a mini-fridge. Two bottles of water are provided. A full illustrated set of instructions are provided on checking out before 10am.

(Note: I was swapped for Apt 301 from Apt 303 upon arrival). The pillows. Some of them looked worn and well used. The floor mat for the toilet was also yellowed and worn. I'm not really fussed about it, but these two items could have either been replaced or removed as a hotel property. If this was a friend's place I was visiting, I wouldn't mind. There is a open linen area down the hall and around the corner where the washing machine and dryer are located. The channels on the TV did not work because the internet was not working. As I was there to sleep and go out to explore but not stay in, this was not a problem - but could be for someone looking for a vacation away from home or as a foreigner - if you needed to connect to the internet without a SIM card, this would be problematic.
