Hostal Cattleya

Loved the location being slightly away from the town centre but still with a lovely view back towards the town. Nice and quiet. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. Interesting hearing about Ivan's earlier years as a fisherman for 33 years. Great having filtered water to drink rather than having to buy bottled water from a shop. Easy walk to the airport on departure day. Loved the hammocks.

The location was perfect. Close to the airport but not in middle of the small city. No noise which is crucial for me. Protected entrances

Water could have been warmer. There is no “hot and cold”. I understand this is what there is in the islands, but a heads up would have been good.

Good breakfast served each morning, tea and coffee available throughout the day. Large common rooftop terraced area with hammocks. Large room with lockable cupboard. Excellent hosts, met me at the door, gave me tourist orientation, allowed late checkout.

One small thing. The shower was of the electric type that never seems to give sufficient hot water - lukewarm warm at best.

Staying at the hostal is like staying with family. Warm, comfortable, and inviting. Mr. Iván will not let you skip breakfast. The views from the third floor rooms are incredible. My new home away from home

Just off the main drag. Imagine your grandparents invited you to come stay at their house but the house is in the Galapagos. Don't skip breakfast.

Ivan! Such a lovely and welcoming man. Gave us breakfast at a time convenient to us. Always has a smile on his face. The pillows were the most comfortable we had slept in for weeks. Location great- close to town.

Not being able to adjust the hot water. First shower was luke warm at best.

We stayed in a room at the top floor with direct access to hammocks and eating area - with a view of course. Rooms were comfortable, breakfast was nice. It is also nice to hear the oink-oink from nearby male sea lions. Ivan and Joan are very friendly and great hosts. The nearby naval station is not a problem.

The bathroom needs an update. Water was wasted because of inpractical toilet flushing and shower temperature setting.

The owners Trudy and Ivan made the stay very welcoming and comfortable. Walking distance to the pier and shops. Lovely terrace area for breakfast and hanging out on hammocks.

Only practical thing I would suggest is to include more hooks and clothing hangers in the room.
