In this riverside hostel—a three-level, all-wood building with a traditional feel—the atmosphere is magical, especially early in the morning. On the second floor, you can look out the large window overlooking the river (best in the morning or at dusk) and enjoy the view of the boats traversing the river, the lush vegetation (including palm and mango trees), and the large (modern) temple located on the other side. On the top floor, there's a large, fully equipped kitchen with a lovely terrace offering stunning views. Having breakfast and dinner on the terrace, when it's windy, is a priceless experience. Furthermore, the place is spotlessly clean, well-kept, and relatively quiet (aside from a few dogs barking at night on the side of the small square in the front). The location is very central: everything you need is a five-minute walk away (and, if you need it, you can rent a bike for 50-60 baht a day, directly from the host). Finally, the owner is a thoughtful and lovely person who goes out of her way to make you feel at home. If you're traveling to Ayutthaya as a backpacker (alone or as a couple), you'll love this place.

If, like me, you're a light sleeper, get a room with air conditioning: it costs a few hundred baht more but is definitely worth it. The only downside to this hostel is that the rooms without AC (only fans) are incredibly hot, and if you end up in one of those overlooking the small square in front of the hostel, the barking dogs might wake you up in the middle of the night. Just choose your room wisely—for the rest, this location is great.

Nice view of the river, big terrace (rooftop) where you can have breakfast or dinner, just 10 min cycling from major temples and literally next to everything you need (7-eleven, street food, pharmacy, etc.). The host was very welcoming and ready to do anything to help me get comfortable.

Rooms without AC (only fan) tend to get extreyhot at night and if you happen to stay in one of those facing the street you may be woken up by dogs barking. But the host was very accommodating and let me move to another room.

De hele sfeer, gastvrouw, fietsjes, lokatie, alles aanwezig, heerlijk dakterras, douches etc keurig netjes. Avondmarkt voor de deur.

Redelijk wat lawaai van de markt.
