Cave Rooms Sassi

It is very special to stay in an authentic Sassi. Great location! A parking garage was close by and always had spots available. Francesco was our concierge and was very responsive and very helpful.

I would let anyone traveling by car know to travel as close to the area as possible and park to unload your bags. We had large suitcases because we were traveling in Italy for 2 weeks culminating with a attending wedding. It was very difficult to roll the large suitcases over the rocky terrain of the paths around Old Town where the Sassi are located. This area is better suited for bags one can easily carry.

Für einen Aufenthalt in Matera ist die sicher eine der authentischsten Orte, wo man wohnen kann.Man fühlt das Leben in den Sassi!Natürlich kein Luxus ohne Fenster in einer Höhle-aber super passend !Und dies war alles vorher so kommuniziert-also keine Überraschung

Besutiful place with a lot of room. Very comfortable bed! Nunzio was a great host.

A little hard to find , there was no signs.

Le fait de dormir à Matéra et ainsi de pouvoir découvrir Matéra tard le soir et tôt le matin et ainsi éviter la foule ! Appartement calme. Attention, il faut se garer en dehors de la ville et de nombreux escaliers sont incontournables pour rejoindre la chambre. Si vous séjournez une seule nuit, je conseille de prendre juste le nécessaire pour la nuit....

L'éclairage de la chambre : des lampes de chevet plus puissantes seraient appréciées

Absolutely terrible. We booked 3 rooms, they were damp, very damp. One room didn’t even have tiles in the shower. Owner must think it goes with the whole “cave” look but because we had multiple rooms , obviously the other rooms had tiled bathrooms. Also one of bathrooms had an electrical cable IN THE SHOWER ROOM which was just hanging there with some insulation tape wrapped around the end
