Don Carlo Tropea

The location of this room was excellent however I had a rental car and the streets are very confusing and I was told there was parking on the street which is very difficult to find and I think it’s two euros per hour. Finally I went down the wrong way street and couldn’t get out. I was very frustrated. I finally got to the building and the host said that I could rent a space from them for €24 a night which was connected to the building. I wish I had known that previously. Also, you have to walk up about 40 stairs to the room, and if you are disabled or have trouble walking it is a hike. But to be honest, most places in Europe have a lot of stairs specially the older buildings. I really think they should have a microwave in the room the restaurants if you’re hungry, there’s nothing to heat up leftovers or if you want something hot. Also I find in Italy they give you the small packets of shampoo and body wash that are not sufficient. The room itself is very nice. The bathroom is very nice. The shower was nice. The host did give me an adapter since I’m from the United States, they tried to be as accommodating as they could, there is a little market, which is very good around the corner. They do have a water heater for coffee and also would be nice to even have a hot plate.

Location was great, good breakfast.

The staff were very welcoming and accomodating. We arrived early and were able to use our room before the normal check in time. Breakfast as ample and the rooftop setting was lovely. When we had to check out before normal breakfast hours, we had asked if we could take a few yogurts for the next morning, and were instead provided with an early packed breakfast. Our short stay was wonderful and we would definitely stay there again. You can't beat the central location.

Carlo and Karina were perfect hosts, they made sure we were comfortable and provided recommendations for things to do and restaurants during our stay in Tropea. Breakfast and the terrace was wonderful. We tried Karina’s frittata alla Tropea, it was very tasty! The room was well appointed, clean, and serviced every day. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location is literally in the center of where all the restaurants are located. We highly recommend this accommodation for anyone visiting Tropea. Well done and thank you very much for lovely stay, Carlo and Karina!

Excellent breakfast and location, plus parking was a bonus

This was one of the best stays in Italy. Host: There are no words that describe my appreciation for the extraordinarily gentle and positive people that are Karina and Carlo. There are only three rooms in this B&B so the ambiance is familial and customer-oriented. We got so many great advices from the host but most important they saved us when the day of our departure Italian railways decided to go on strike. All the regional trains were cancelled and we needed to go from Tropea to Reggio Calabria. Uber and local taxies charged from 350 to 1700 euros. Karina helped us with booking the taxi and we knew that we won’t be charged a fortune for that. Location: The B&B is located in the city centre but it is still quite quiet. There are few mini markets nearby. The bigger market is located around 20-30 min by walk but it wasn’t a difficult route. To access the beach it is needed to go downstairs as the city center is located on the hill. The apartments are located on the higher floor but the stairs are quite spacious and low. Room: Room is spacious, quite soundproofed and very clean. There are an open wardrobe, a chair and a desk. Under the desk there is a fridge with a mini bar. Bed and pillows were comfy. Bathroom is practical and very clean. Shower is spacious and the water pressure is very good. Outside of the room’s window there is a clothes rack and laundry clips are also available. Air-condition is new, clean and works correctly, the only problem was that it was located next to the bed so it can be too strong for some people. Terrace and breakfast: The view from the terrace is very pleasant we could use it to n the evening to drink some wine and enjoy the stay. Everyday the breakfast was served by the host. There was a daily menu for hot meals and open bar for snacks and fruits. Cakes were baked by the host and very delicious. The frittata was one of a kind. Coffee was perfect like always in south of Italy.

Great location and great people.

Sometimes was a little loud, but to be expected in that location.
