Kyougetsu-an

The house was exactly what my wife and I needed! It’s in a very walkable neighborhood with a huge mall just a few blocks away that includes grocery stores and shops. It’s also right next to bus lines that easily connect to the train stations — and it only costs about $1.50 USD (240 yen) per person. The home has everything you could possibly need. Just make sure to read the manual provided, as it explains how to operate everything, including the hot water controls (the shower pressure was amazing!). If you want a truly authentic Japanese experience, this home and neighborhood have it all. There are also plenty of great restaurants nearby — some right on the street and others just a short walk away. The big ramen shop one block from the house, served the BEST ramen I’ve ever had in my life with huge portions and very affordable! Stop reading reviews and just book this place — it’s all you need!

The stairs are in true Japanese style — steep and almost straight up. If you have knee problems, this might not be the ideal place, but for everyone else, you’ll get used to them quickly. After a day or two, the climb to the second floor just feels like part of the authentic Japan experience.

Lovely place to stay. Facilities were good and clean. Washing machine used and not difficult to use just a small problem with drying. Do not do a large wash. Kitchen area good and was used. Comfortable beds.

As we used the kitchen to cook it would be good if we had a bigger table to use. Bit tight on parking, good for a smaller car.

Large place, responsive host. Nice location, very clean. Restaurant next door.

Very steep stairs to the second floor. Toilets are ob the first floor, bedrooms on the second. Going up and down is challenging, not suitable for elderly guests.
