Location was excellent The host was very friendly and helpful

There was a strong and unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke inside the house which was worse in the entrance and we could smell the smoke inside the bedroom. The kitchen could have been cleaner

Close to main train and bus stations. The host is warm and friendly. Although it doesn't describe in the policy the host provides excellent breakfast every morning.

No heat outside of your room

Just a few minutes walk from the station is this lovely and cosy place. Mariko the hostess was lovely, it showed that it was super important for her that we'll enjoy our stay in nikko. She gave us great recommendations to enjoy the area and was very sweet in general.

Nous n’avons jamais été aussi bien accueillis que par l’hôte de ce logement. En plus d’un accueil chaleureux accompagné de nombreuses explications, chaque matin elle nous a offert un copieux petit déjeuner cuisiné par ses soins. Nous avons été très touchée car elles nous a également offert des petits cadeaux faits main. Passer deux nuits dans cette maison, ce fut comme retomber dans la douceur de l’enfance.

Great location, however is on the quieter side of Nikko (the side closer to Tobu-Nikko station is a bit livelier). Fairly easy to get to all the sightseeing spots. Our host Mariko was very warm and welcoming!

The guest rooms are all upstairs. The stairs are narrow and I would highly recommend packing light and not bringing large suitcases as we did. There is sometimes the smell of cigarettes in the common areas.

Very lovely and helpful owner. Nice authentic guesthouse.
