NIKKO stay house ARAI - Vacation STAY 13830v

La propriétaire est adorable et a mis tout son coeur pour nous aider à organiser notre lendemain à Nikko! Petite maison très conviviale! Nous avons aussi eu droit à un petit déjeuner copieux et délicieux ❤️

Nice, quiet location, 5-10 minutes walk from Nikko Station. Mariko was very kind and thoroughly helpful! The room is big, clean and with ample space for luggage. Futon bed, so comfort is different for someone who is used to regular beds. Stairs to rooms, which are in the 2nd floor of the house (no elevator). there is a 7/11 nearby, so very convenient (see what I did here? :) ) Great value stay!

很傳統的日式房子，老闆娘雖然不太會講英文，但真的很熱情的招待我們，隔天一早起床看到日光今年第一場初雪，老闆娘知道我們沒有雪地開車經驗後，建議我們先不要上去中禪寺湖，因為路面可能會有積雪+結冰，可以先去東照宮走走，很貼心！！

Excellent emplacement, Mariko-san est très gentille et nous a préparé un excellent petit-déjeuner. C’était confortable et très propre.

I loved the owners and their hospitality. They made me a luxurious breakfast with bread, egg and lots of fresh fruits. They were very helpful with everything, sharing tips what to do around Nikko. They even gave me some fruit to eat on the train on the way back 🥹 It was also an authentic experience to stay in a traditional Japanese house. The location was also perfect, just a 5 min walk to JR Nikko station and the bus station.

The only downside was a bit hard futon to sleep on (if you’re not used to sleeping on hard surfaces) and the smoke smell in the entire house (as a non smoker). But for everything you get, these downsides are minor!
