The house completly cold impossible tò start the heatin

The check in was very easy and the staff was very responsive and helpful through E-mail. Location-wise, the guest house is not far from JR Nikko Station (~8-10 mins of walk), and there is a 7-11 close quite close to the guest house, and I think there were supermarkets near the guest house too. (Do note that the locations of convenient stores in Nikko are quite disperse). It is roomy for a solo traveler and for couple. If you are a family of 4 with 2 kids, I think the bunk bed will do for the kids. The household appliances and kitchenettes are kept in good conditions. Overall, if you're looking for a quiet night time at Nikko, or if you would like to cook for yourself to experience a more local stay, it is a good place to stay.

The check in time is kind of late for Autumn or Winter (the sun starts to set around 3.45pm and will fully set at around 4.30pm), and I did not know if I could keep my luggage there before check-in time. So I instead chose to keep my luggage at the coin locker at Tobu Nikko Station. I wish there were more instructions on it.

Not spacious for family

There were no restaurants nearby, we have to walk towards station. Probably we faced issues because we were looking for specific food without pork and meat.

It's a house with all the facilities - comfortable Japanes style beds, full kitchen, living room with a table and tv, heaters, shower corner and parking in front of the house. We also liked that it was very quiet at night.

The house does not look much from outside and the location is probably suitable best for travellers with a car.

We had some hiccup on the first day but the staff is so helpful. The place is clean and comfortable, it got everything in the house.

It was spacious, very good communication with the owner who was super helpful and even arranged our luggage to be transferred to Kanazawa without us having to take the suitcases anywhere. We thought it was really good value for money. It was great to have a fridge, microwave, toaster, washing machine and cutlery.

You do need to walk around 1km from the JR station whcih doesn’t seem like a lot but with luggage (and a baby in our instance) it can be hard. The footpaths aren’t the best to get there. We wished there were more towels as our towels were not drying due to the cold and rain so we kept using damp towels for 3 days in a row.

Nice location, though a bit of a walk from the station, nice view of mountains
