Lovely host family. Relaxed, happy atmosphere. Excellent food and drink. Twin, private onsen.

Shared toilet. Not much privacy.

Great experience at this very homely place after a long hike. The host was really engaging and helped with everything I needed. Food was lovingly prepared and served. The private onsen and bath is lovely as is the view of the river right outside. Just a little out of the way from the main Hongu area but there are buses, and it's close to the Ukegawa trailhead. Recommended.

Pricing was slightly on the higher side for the weekends, but understandable.

Het is heel authentiek. Mooie grote kamers, prima bed en alles heel schoon De atributen die ik nog uit 1970 kende de sloten van de kamer bijvoorbeeld. Mooie oude meubels. Prima Onsen.

The location itself is amazing and deep at the heart of Kumano, with a unique atmosphere compared to Hongu or Yunomine. This place was the only in Japan where I honestly did not feel just a customer, but was welcomed in the most genuine and kind way by the family that manages the inn, which makes you truly feel at home with them.

A warm welcome, hot springs, and hearty meals are here to greet you at this lovely lodge. The hosts were very helpful in helping us plan our route for our onward journey. Overall, would highly recommend!
