Guesthouse The Kims

The host asked us about our food preferences before deciding her menu. She made bimbap for breakfast and it was so delicious. I wished I could have extended my stay for another day. The host is a very warm and welcoming person

The Kims were very hospitable and helpful. Very warm welcome that made us feel right at home. Location is great if you are planning on spending more time near historic sites. A bit far from the othe popular areas, but the metro line is not far away. The place is in a quiet neighbourhood.

A small mixup with room and a dmz tour and cost. But they were minor things.

Loved my stay with The Kims, fantastic hospitality by Young, she really made me feel at home and made tasty, yummy breakfast. Also helpful for places to check out like Muk museum which is nearby, lots of mountains, walking trails nearby. A bit out of the way and guesthouse is located on a steep hill.

Location a bit far from centre

Eine außergewöhnliche Unterkunft. Ein „Designerhaus“ in Hanglage, das zwar durch einen etwas steilen Anstieg erst erreicht wird, aber dafür auch europäische Herzen für Schönes erfreut. Super nettes Ehepaar verwöhnt dann täglich mit verschiedenen Frühstücksvariationen. Insgesamt gute Verkehrsanbindung trotz ruhiger Lage. Es hätten auch mehr als drei Nächte sein können.

Für Schönes muss man auch manchmal den Berg nach oben gehen. Das Haus hat die Hausnummer 14 nicht 11, wie angegeben.

Hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming. When traveling, nothing beats a homemade, healthy breakfast and great conversation. The room was spacious with direct views of the forest and mountains. I only heard the sounds of animals, wind, and the forest. No cars or noise from downstairs. The decor was tasteful. On my last day there, I got caught in the rain late at night, and the hosts let me use their dryer for my clothes so they would not mold up my suitcase for the next day's travels. I would stay here again the next time I visit Seoul. The bus stops frequently in their area. I had no issues with Wi-Fi. Close by, I went to the Seoul City Wall , an art museum, and various small shops. The hosts know the area well and can give excellent recommendations. They also know English.

Taxi drivers may get confused about the specific location of their house, as it is right up next to a forest and the road on google maps turns into a walk way inaccessible to cars. The hosts will share a location of a nearby center for taxis to go to, and then you can walk the short remaining distance. As their house is in the mountains next to the forest, there are 3-4 different levels within the house (many stairs). I would not come here if using stairs is difficult.

Visiting the Kims is like visiting my parents after a some absence. Young In is an excellent cook. Young in took us to visit Costco and sam joined in on an early morning hike to show us the way to the peek. Everything about this guesthouse is great.
