Swan Lake Habarana

Excellent séjour à Swan Lake Habarana, l’hôte nous a très bien conseillé sur toutes les excursions. La chambre était très propre et très fonctionnelle. Les petits déjeuners et repas sont de grandes qualités et l’hôte s’adapte à vos goûts. L’hôte est vraiment d’une grande gentillesse, toujours prêt à faire plaisir aux voyageurs. Il a pris du temps pour répondre à toutes nos questions sur les coutumes et traditions du Sri Lanka. Nous recommandons l’hôtel à 100% !

The host is very welcoming, always respond to our needs and checks if we feel comfortable staying at the lodge. He also came to the train station to pick us up and sometimes he offered to drive us to the city free of charge, we really appreciated that. Room is spacious and spotless, we got everything we need, hot shower, hairdryer. The breakfast and the diner are REALLY AMAZING! A SUPER big plus for this place, and they CHANGE menu everyday, so we had a bit of everything during our stay.

The room was spacious and clean. While Habarana was extremely hot, the room temperature was bearable without having to use the AC for the entire night. Breakfast at this accommodation was very nice and was different each day.

The accommodation is set back from the road, so it isn’t too noisy, though some street noise (without loud horns) can be heard — one morning it did wake me up. Most of the time, however, we slept well. Dinner felt somewhat overpriced and lacked variety. On one occasion, we requested boiled vegetables as part of dinner, and when we checked out the host attempted to charge an additional 3,000 rupees without prior agreement. The property is not located in the town center, which can be slightly inconvenient for dining out or shopping if you don’t have a car. As there is no pedestrian path, walking is not really practical. Before arrival, the host mentioned that breakfast could be served at any time. When we asked for breakfast at 7 a.m. one day, they were initially reluctant but eventually agreed. Payment was charged according to the latest exchange rate (which was quite high in April 2026) and rounded up slightly.

Kalhara's place was a great stay for our 3 days. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a hot water shower. The hospitality there stood out, as Kalhara is there to assist in anything you need. I asked for a haircut and he gladly took me to his barber who did a wonderful job. Let's not forget the breakfast -- so tasty and always a little different each morning. After 3 weeks in the country this was by far the best egg hopper. If I am back in Habarana I am coming back here!

Our 3-night stay in Habarana was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that instantly made us feel at home. The setting is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, lush, and perfectly positioned to experience the best of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. The accommodation itself was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with every detail taken care of. Comfortable beds, a relaxing atmosphere, and all the amenities you could need made it easy to unwind after full days of exploring. What truly stood out was the service. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect—always friendly, helpful, and happy to assist with local tips, transport, and recommendations. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The food was another highlight—fresh, delicious, and full of authentic local flavor. Each meal felt like a special experience in itself. Habarana is the ideal base for visiting nearby attractions, and staying here made everything easy and enjoyable. After three nights, we genuinely didn’t want to leave. Highly recommended—this place delivers comfort, authenticity, and outstanding hospitality in every way. We would absolutely return.

La stanza è grande e pulita, il letto comodo. C'è una veranda davanti ma bisogna munirsi di spray antizanzare. La struttura complessivamente è molto carina. Colazione varia. Abbiamo cenato solo una volta. Porzioni abbondanti. Il proprietario organizza anche i tour nelle vicinanze.

La posizione un po defilata dal centro. La doccia ha il getto un po scarso.

Very attentive, helpful and flexible host who was always available to answer questions. Great communication. Exceptionally clean, quiet and comfortable large room with great aircon. Outstanding breakfast and dinner.

Was für ein perfekter Start unserer Reise in Sri Lanka! Kalhara ist ein großartiger Gastgeber – er und seine liebe Familie haben unseren Aufenthalt im Hotel Swan Lake in Habarana unglaublich angenehm und komfortabel gemacht. Das Hotel liegt ideal, um die alten Königsstädte und die Nationalparks zu erkunden, und der wunderschöne Garten sorgt für eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Unser Zimmer war geräumig, sauber und herrlich ruhig. Das Frühstück war immer frisch, vielfältig und sehr lecker. Abends hat Kalharas Frau wunderbar für uns gekocht – jedes Gericht war köstlich und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Kalhara hat uns außerdem zu tollen Orten gebracht und bei der Planung unserer Tagesausflüge geholfen. Auch unsere Transfers von Colombo und später nach Kandy hat er perfekt organisiert. Insgesamt hat unser Aufenthalt unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können das Hotel Swan Lake nur weiterempfehlen!

Hostitel byl občas příliš trochu snaživý i když jsme nic nepotřebovali. Navíc jsme dostali jiný pokoj s jednou, a ne dvěma postelemi, ale na místě jsme se dohodli, že to tak stačí.
