Blooming Rose Ella

Indeed the guest (very kind, he drove us with the tuk tuk and given to go breakfast) and and view were amazing, clean room but…

The “hotel” is not finished, we had some bad smell in the bathroom that was not solved, water pressure is very low. It is a decent price but still a bit much for what it offers. Also, there are a looot of stairs until the room 7 is a fair score and mostly because of the host who is a 10

Quirky access via steps

This is an amazing place to stay in Ella. It's a little out of the town, but the owner can take you into Ella by Tuk Tuk, or it's a 10-15 minute walk along the train tracks. The views from this accommodation are amazing and the owner is so friendly and helpful. I really recommend this place to make your stay in Ella even more special.

Access to the property can be difficult for anyone who isn't able on their feet. However, if you are fit and able the location is worth it for the views, especially at breakfast time.

This is a beautiful property situated in the hills just outside Ella. The staff here are wonderful and provide a beautiful breakfast and are willing to help all the time. The host organised an amazing cooking class for us and dropped us in Ella with his tuk tuk whenever we needed. It was so thoughtful and helpful. Our room had beautiful views and great facilities - TV, comfy bed, kettle and shower. The tranquility and peacefulness of the stay was what we needed in Ella.

As other reviews mentioned, you do cross through some building work to access the property but apart from walking through it, it didn’t impact on our stay at all. The bathroom probably needs some renovation as there was a slight sewage smell every now and then. However considering the location, the water pressure was great!

Blooming Rose homestay is an absolute gem. There are currently 4 rooms which all have a breathtaking view. Our room was spotlessly clean, the bed was super comfortable and we had a fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a seating area both in the room and on the balcony. An excellent breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the mountains and arrives on the table at exactly the time you request the night before. The very best thing about this homestay however is the wonderful family that run it. They are so kind, nothing is too much trouble. On arrival the owner’s sons were waiting to carry our bags down the steps and made us a lovely pot of tea while we took in the view. The owner recommended a great restaurant slightly further up the hill, ran us up in his tuk tuk then came back to collect us after a couple of hours. The next morning he dropped us right to the door of our cooking class. We offered to pay for these rides but were politely refused. We had a bag of clothes laundered and returned within a day and were driven to and from our tea factory tour both for a very reasonable price. Don’t be put off by mentions of the building site- you do have to negotiate a lot of steps and walk through the extensions they are building but for us this did not detract at all from a wonderful stay. We wish the family all the best with their future plans for Blooming Rose, they have created a very special place and we would love to return one day.
