Very close to the beach close to the restaurants and easy access to public transport

There is nothing to dislike. Just 5 minutes from the central

The family hosting is just adorable and very caring. The room and the bathroom are spacious and bright. Booked for one night ended up staying almost one week.

Couldn't really find any. Maybe water pressure in the bathroom could be improved.

After a long flight and long train ride the Shady Edge was best choice to arrive. Protected by a mosquito net I fell asleep instantly. Bed was comfy, big enough. Dinner and breakfast were the best I had during my travels. Nice porch and view to garden. (I didn't use bcs if the mosquitos.) Located perfectly next to a bus station to continue travelling, and Delawella Beach is just around the corner. To top it off, Prasanna and his family took care of me very attentively, helping me out with an adapter I forgot to bring for electronic devices or took my clothing for drying inside not to get wet from the rain while I was at the beach and exploring.

Not spacious inside the room/ no sitting opportunity inside the room. If you are out most of the time that shouldn't bother you though.

Cute place, just near the angel beach. This is a room on the first floor, private parking, bed was good and bedding sheets were clean, everything was new and nice. We bought breakfast for extra money, but it was so generous and tasty! Hosts gave us all kinds of national breakfast dishes, fruits and tea! Thanks a lot!

It's ok, but may be important for some people - no hot water in the shower.

I must say that I was very surprised by the equipment of the room and the willingness of the owners and their entire family. I traveled alone and they advised me with everything I needed. not to mention the tuk tuk ride to the next accommodation. I can only recommend.

After a long flight we arrived at the Shady Edge and were greeted with friendly smiles and warm tea. The room was very clean and we could recover well. The dinner was cooked by the mother of the family and it was more than delicious. Although we were hungry, we couldn't eat it all as it was so opulent. The center of Unawatuna is 5 min away by tuk tuk. The turtle beach is 5 min away by foot, we saw a big turtle when snorkelling there. The family is very kindhearted and hospitable and we felt very welcome. We even had a cooking class with the whole family on our last evening and we learned so much about the Sri Lankan kitchen. After 3 nights we were sad to leave them. The father of the family is a tuk tuk driver and he safely drove us to our next accommodation. We will never forget this friendly family and we are glad that we booked our stay with them.
