Memo's Beach

Prachtige locatie, erg leuke kamers een aankleding van de lounge area en het restaurant. Je kan erg lekker eten, en in de avond worden de tafels door een onwijs lieve oude man op het strand gezet. Wij hebben hier onze vakantie heerlijk afgesloten met een paar dagen strand en ontspanning.

Personeel doet goed hun best je moet alleen duidelijk aangeven wat je wil, iets meer assertiviteit zou hierbij kunnen helpen.

Gezellig aangekleed hotel dichtbij het strand.

Slechte badkamer. Riool geur door de afvoer. Verbrande plastic geur wanneer we de douche opzetten. Licht in badkamer werkt niet. Het ontbijt was schraal. De prijs is te hoog voor wat je krijgt. Bovenop deze hoge prijs werd er ook nog een slechte conversie rate en 3% extra aangerekend omdat we met visa betaalden. Onderhandelen met deze uitbater is ook niet mogelijk. Hij verkiest een vrijwel leeg hotel boven zijn prijs te verlagen. Helaas zijn dit soort nadelen vrijwel overal in de regio van toepassing waardoor heel Nilaveli eigenlijk een grote toeristenval is. Er is weinig buiten een mooie zee te zien, de uitbaters zijn enkel op geld uit en bieden heel weinig waar voor je geld. Wij hebben ons bezoek aan de regio hierdoor vroegtijdig beëindigd en raden iedereen af om deze regio te bezoeken. Het is het geld absoluut niet waard en niet in proportie met de rest van Sri Lanka.

Naast de tegenvallers was het personeel vriendelijk, behulpzaam en het ontbijt was prima. Uiteindelijk prima tijd gehad.

We hadden vooraf ingelicht moeten worden dat onze kamer op 700 meter van Memo's verwijderd was. Dit zou een hoop negativieit/teleurstelling bij inchecken kunnen voorkomen. ( En een hoop negatieve recensies). Foto's en omschrijving op booking.com zijn misleidend. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is slecht. Het huisje was achterstallig in onderhoud. Ramen afgeplakt met kranten, kapotte ruiten. Verder wel "rustiek" sfeertje en hebben ons prima vermaakt. Personeel misschien wat traag maar met beste bedoelingen zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Le service. Aucun sens du service client. Attente interminable pour être servi au restaurant. La chambre très petite par rapport aux photos. Très cher pour la prestation

The location being right on the beautiful Nilaveli Beach is stunning. The rooms are well designed for families staying as they have a mezzanine level with additional beds. The staff are friendly and try their best to help. Highly recommend the Bruschetta - it is so tasty.

The breakfast is served from 8:30 - 10:30 and is a buffet. On the first morning there, we went down at 9:30 and there was barely anything left, some additional items were bought out but it was very sparse. The following morning, we made sure that we got there for 8:30 - seems everyone else had the same idea and once again the food provided on the buffet was finished within a matter of seconds. Despite their best efforts service is slow. We did have an issue with ants in our bathroom but we didn't need to raise this with the staff as we had some bug spray with us and it rectified the issue.

The location was idyllic, walk out of the rooms and straight onto the beach. Delicious coffee.

Breakfast - there wasn't enough food for all of the guests. If you weren't at the front of the queue at 8.30, when breakfast started you didn't get much. The staff were slow to bring out and top up items. You had to repeatedly ask for.more things to be brought out. I asked for a pot of tea two mornings and were told they had no tea, in a country that is famous for producing tea. The coffee at breakfast was from a small perculator and wasn't enough and constantly had to ask for more to be made. Staff were slow to bring coffee or drinks when asked. We are in the restaurant one night and the food was delicious, but the portion sizes were very small. The covers on the loungers were heavily stained and needed washing.
