Staying at Kasbah Maktob was a truly unforgettable experience. This beautiful guesthouse is an old kasbah that the owner, Mustafa, has patiently restored by himself over the years, and you can feel his passion and care in every detail. The road to the kasbah is a little tricky, and the last 200 meters need to be walked, but villagers kindly showed us the way and Mustafa came to meet us at the parking area, so we had no trouble arriving. Surrounded by palm trees in a peaceful oasis, the kasbah feels like stepping back in time. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated with great attention to detail, preserving the authentic atmosphere of the original building. Our room on the top floor even had a private terrace with a sofa, offering lovely views over the palm grove and surrounding buildings. Dinner is available for an extra fee (10 euros), and it is absolutely worth it. Mustafa prepares a delicious homemade tajine using local ingredients, served on a covered terrace where you can fully enjoy the silence and atmosphere of the place. Breakfast was also generous, varied, and very tasty. We stayed in December, when mornings and evenings were a bit cold, but the room was equipped with a modern air-conditioning unit, so we slept warmly and comfortably. Also the mattress was pleasantly firm. Mustafa is a wonderful host—always quick to reply to questions before arrival and quietly attentive during our stay. He also shared many interesting stories about the kasbah and the village during meals. Getting there requires a bit of effort, but this unique kasbah stay is truly worth it and highly recommended.

La kasbah maktob est exceptionnelle en terme de mobilier, décoration, agencement, et accès! Il faut déambuler dans un vrai labyrinthe authentique pour y accéder. Le hameau est magnifique à visiter. La cuisine et le petit déjeuner sont parfait, avec de plus notre hôte Mustapha qui est aux petits soins. Nous recommandons cet établissement.

Deze parel ligt verscholen tussen de vele ruïnes van wat ooit een levendig dorp was. De weg ernaartoe doet je zo denken aan de middeleeuwen. Eens binnen wordt je hartelijk ontvangen door Moustapha met thee, hij verteld je maar wat graag over hoe hij eigenhandig deze kasbah heeft gerenoveerd. Het avondeten was zeer lekkeren royaal net als het ontbijt. Als je een unieke slaaplocatie zoekt in filmdecor moet je deze plek zeker boeken. Een unieke ervaring zonder weerga!

Superb and authentic. Details of the parking will be provided by the owner, easier to reach by car. From parking lot you have some distance to the acomodation on a semi rough terrain. Better if you have backpack and not a big troller on wheels. But no worries, just let the big bag in the car, go to the acomodation and the owner will help you carry it. Amazing breakfast. Also i recommend the dinner

It’s really beautiful and unique experience. You’ll sleep in kasbah in the middle of Palm Oasis and surrounding mountains, that light up during sunset! 😍 We thought It Would be cold at night, but It Was pretty warm. ☺️ Very authentlicly dekorated. We had the bathroom for ourselves! Clean rooms, comfy, warm water in the bathroom,… And our host was so kind - welcomed us with some moroccan tea and cookies. But the views are the best!🥰
