The Castaway retreat

All the staff are really kind and helpful. The food there is a delight, worth to try their dinner also, they made delicious maldivian food. The room is nice and cozy, always clean. Everything is close in this island. If you like nightlife this Ferdhoo is not a place for you, but if you like nature, nice beaches, friendly people, than the only problem is that you have to go home one day.

Everything! The owners Azmil and Mizu are the perfect hosts! They are young, friendly, speak excellent english, and care about their guests. after a miserable experience in hangnaameedhoo this place was just perfect! the exquisite local food they served - every evening a new experience! they are conscious about serving local food from local ingredients, so you get really fresh salads, fruits, and local food. the room is very clean and modern, and feels really nice I traveled though them to see manta rays - was an excellent trip most places in the maldives are quite the same - this one is unique because of the people that run the place! Thank you Azmil and Mizu for an excellent time!

Home away from Home We can highly recommend this hidden gem retreat as it really gives you all you need (and more!) when you decide to stay on a local Maldives island. The couple who runs the place - Azmyl and his charming wife - really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and they looked after us for our whole stay in Feridhoo. Their kindness shone through their honest smile from the very first minute. Every extra wish we had they made sure was granted as soon as. When we needed a transfer from another island, Azmyl not just organised the boat for us, he actually came to meet us and took the whole boat ride with us. We couldn’t be more grateful, really; we are definitely coming back to this little piece of Heaven (sooner rather than later, I hope!) As our travel companions - a couple – had have stayed at Castaway 3 years ago, we’ve already had a grasp of how lovely this place really is. And it sure did not disappoint! Needless to say, the place is spotless, they clean the rooms every day to the highest standards (you’ll get fresh bottled water daily as well!). Each room have aircon and a modern ceiling fan as well. You have good WIFI connection too. Our friends have chosen one of the rooms with the open ceiling bathroom (as they did 3 years ago) and they really loved the experience! As I am not that adventurous, I really appreciated the option with the ‘normal’ bathroom too! The whole property is kept nice and tidy at all times, it looks and feels like a little oasis with white sand on the yard floor, the jungle like greeneries and the wooden furniture (see photos) And now get to my favourite subject: FOOD! 10/10 (again, see photos) Not joking! They are amazing with their food and with the serving too! They cook everything on the spot at the retreat’s kitchen with the help of other locals. Everything is freshly picked and cooked just before they serve it to you.

Great host, was flexible on our requests, delicious and healthy breakfast, quiet, close to the beach, there were options for an air conditioning and ventilation in the room, I personally prefer ventilator at night, and air con during the day.
