Happy Man Village

The seclusion and surroundings were beautiful and the free Tuk Tuk transfers to the beaches worked really well. The food was exceptional - especially the homemade curries and never ending breakfasts. The pool was clean and a great size as were the bedrooms. A lovely place to stay.

Happy Man Village was the highlight of our 3 week holiday in Sri Lanka. The villa was very comfortable, lovely pool, the food was excellent and the owners so welcoming. The beach nearby was really beautiful and still unspoiled. Thoroughly recommended.

This is an absolutely amazing place with a lovely story behind and super friendly staff. Spacious and clean room, comfy bed, AC & Fan. The best food we had in sri lanka during our 2 weeks trip. The pool is amazing w/clean water and big green garden carefully taken care of. The owner and each family member went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, provided all the information, explanation, helpful tips. Nothing could be better !!!

This place is paradise. Only a few bungalows, that are beautiful and super confortable. We loved the outdoor bathroom. The overall place is amazing with a huge swimming pool, a beautiful garden in the middle of the mangroves. Many birds and animals to see. The food was very good, and the whole family is super welcoming. We also recommend the boat tour they propose.

The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, and the accommodation was stunning—comfortable, tranquil, and featuring the most beautiful outdoor bathroom. Breakfast was generous and absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to return!

A beautiful property in quiet surroundings, serving delicious food with warmth. We loved our spacious rooms, comfortable beds and roofless showers. The vast beach is a 10 min walk away, and the train station, 5 min. Will definitely return again and stay longer!

This family-run compound, set off the main road and nestled in the forest, is an absolute delight. The staff, including all family members, are friendly, warm, and happy to help with whatever you need. The food is fantastic; it is all homecooked, and they will facilitate whatever you want. We are both vegetarian and the food that was provided was the best we had eaten in Sri Lanka. The nearby beach, accessible by free tuk-tuk ride, is simply the most magnificent, untrammelled beach I have ever seen. Spotless, golden sands, warm blue water and stunning scenery. The rooms are enormous with comfortable beds, clean (outdoor!) bathroom and a lovely porch. The entire resort was spotless. We spent 11 days in Sri Lanka in total, across a range of different style accommodations, 5* to 2* hotels and this was easily the best place we stayed.

WIFI is poor, but we came to realise that this is a Sri Lanka problem, not a hotel problem. Apart from that, nothing at all.

Our stay at Happy Man Village was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at in Sri Lanka. The dinner, breakfast, hospitality and environment were fantastic. The garden of the hotel is well-maintained and particularly beautiful at night. Furthermore, the rooms are really clean and the outside shower is a big plus! We truly recommend this hotel!
