Lake Ibis

Lal was a brilliant host,,his accommodation is scrupulously clean,,he could not do enough to make my stay as memorable as possible. He is a good cook,,as well as being entertaining company. Lal has a great knowledge of the wildlife of the local area, he organised a memorable trip to Yala National Park,,where I saw some of the amazing wildlife of beautiful Sri Lanka. Birds ,reptiles, mammals,insects etc. I was also fortunate enough to visit his lovely family home,,on the which was a joy. Regards Matt Greene.

Host Lal is extremely attentive to his guests needs. Properties are right beside a lake with lots of birds to view and watch the Water Buffalo being taken for swims. Lal himself is interested in birds and wildlife so is more than happy to book you tours and accompany you if you wish. Tell him what you want to eat and he will buy fresh and cook for you. Rooms are clean and bedding too. I believe his years at sea as a Steward prepared him well for looking after his guests.

Nice big room in great locality. The best was eating dinner/breakfest in a little tree house with the view at lake and birds. Host managed tour to Minneriya NP and was really caring and kind. :)

Great renovated guest house with the best host. Lalith makes sure his guests are equipped with everything, cooks amazingly in the evening and is happy to show the surrounding areas. He also organised the Yala safari for me.

The hotel is on the side of the lake, and when you open the door, you can see the birds,lotus and the water grass in the lake directly.The facilities of the hotel are simple but good.There was a problem with the air conditioning, but it was fixed quickly.There was a problem with the faucet in the bathroom wash basin. You had to use a lot of force to close the faucet or the water would drip.The hotel is very clean.Environment is very natural,and you would see stars and fireflies at night.

Took another blanket that just thin as cloth, be charged separately.but did not specify the price in advance, just listed there at the time of checkout.

Very well looked after by the family running the villa. Great hospitality. The location is lovely, especially if you are in to birdwatching. Some nice walks along the lake edge and very peaceful. The food was very nice and the room was spacious with good air con.
