Location next to the lake and it's wildlife Inside/outside bathroom

Personal preference but we found the host was too intrusive, always present and wanting to talk when we wanted quiet times in the communal areas. We had to bang on the door to gain access to the entrance The lake view room was a view of the fence as the gate was always locked Bed was exceedingly hard and uncomfortable No facilities to make a cup of tea Very expensive safari trip offered, which we declined to make our own better value option We took breakfast once, there was no Sri Lankan option just a very poor European offering. I asked for chilli sauce and was told he had none as westerners don't like chilli

Great host who really puts customer satisfaction on top and goes the extra mile. He picked us up at the bus stop and organized a wonderful safari at yala nationalpark. I can only recommend staying at Great Lake Villa!

The place is cozy, clean and nicely renovated. It's by the lake so you can have a super nice walk about it and enjoy the sunset, the farmers life and get a lot of smiles from the locals. It was perfect to rest and relax during a long scooter ride from the south coast to Ella. What I liked the most, is the owner, he did his best to make my stay perfect, providing good food, both at dinner and breakfast and a lot of tips and info about Sri Lanka. I truly recommend this place!

Very nice hotel and contact, very helpful and attentive host. Beautiful open bathroom and spaceful room. Startet 4.30 am to Safari and host was so polite to get up to say goodbye

Idyllic place where you would like to stay for ever. Wonderful scenery on the lake where you can observe many different birds, and local faune The rooms are spacious, very clean, with nice test The owner, Lali, is a very good and gentle man, desirous to make you discover his paradise, thank you to him Sorry I had to leave
