I loved my stay at The Florenthina House. Carmen is the best host I have ever had. She is very kind and treated me like family. It can be noisy at times but that's Oaxaca.

The owner is super friendly and nice. It’s in a good location only two blocks from Mercado la Merced where you can get delicious foods. And it’s a couple of blocks from downtown

Carmen could not have been more helpful. When the traffic was really bad when we were leaving, she suggested that we walk to the bus station. She then escorted us to make sure we got on the right road and did not get lost.

The room was nice and spacious, bed was very comfortable, AC worked well. Carmen was a wonderful host! She was very generous with her time and recommendations. And did her best to provide a solution when the internet was inadvertently cut off due to construction on the street.as a solo traveler, I really appreciated her making me feel at home and looked after.

It would have been nice to have a little refrigerator and drinking water in the room for convenience. Although Carmen did accommodate and let me use the fridge next door. :-)

Great location, spacious room! Bathroom tiles were cute. Carmen was very sweet :)

No AC, but there’s a fan that worked well for us :)

My stay at the Florenthina's House was awesome. The place is clean, safe, and also quiet (FYI the dogs can bark during the day but are quiet at night). I also liked that it has a patio with a treed inner courtyard (birds!). I do not mind walking so for me the location was convenient; a little out of the way of the busy areas of Oaxaca but still less than 10 blocks from the Zocalo or the Templo Santo Domingo. There is a nice market nearby (Mercado de la Merced) for great Mexican food :) and the trendy barrio Jalatlaco is right next door. The host Carmen was gracious and helpful with everything from where to eat, what to see, etc. Over my short stay at the Florenthina, I was really fortunate to develop a friendship with Carmen and her friends. Because of their generosity I now have a better comprehension and appreciation of Mexico, Oaxaca and its people. Muchas gracias por todo Carmen!
