Pinnawala Elephant Front View Hotel

Clean, large room, good air condition. Easy walk to Pinnawala.

The photos suggest your room will overlook an elephant watering hole but all you actually see is the back of the elephant orphanage. The photos are actually of the river about a 10 min walk away where the elephants from the orphanage get herded to bathe and you have to buy a ticket to walk down the street to view them. Disappointing.

The room was huge, clean, modern, the bed comfortable and the balcony with view of the elephants great. Location just off main road so quiet. Walkable to everything. I ate lunch in restaurant on the river and saw the elephants being washed, then at 4pm outside the orphanage you see them all going back. Fabulous and free. The spice garden is great and informative. The owner arranges this for free.

The breakfast wasn't as good as others I've had in Sri Lanka. The owner is a bit pushy to sell you tours. Just say no if you don't want.

L accueil par le gérant et sa famille était très conviviale. Les chambres sont très propres, très spacieuses et lumineuses. Et la vue sur les éléphants est très agréable des le matin. Le propriétaire nous a fait une visite guidée très très agréable. En plus d être très accueillants ,ils sont profondément gentils. C est mon hôtel coup de cœur de mon voyage. Allez y sans hésiter et le rapport qualité/prix est imbattable.
