Sigiri Lion Eco Palace

The outsides are nice and the location is good so sure go ahead if you want to sleep in mold. 🙃

We arrived knowing the accommodation is cheap and we were ready for basic. But we draw the line at clean. The photos listed here really do not match. The room was totally damp. The walls are visibly wet. Black mold fully grows on the room ceiling and bathroom walls. Bathroom smelled bad. We arrived took one look charged our dead phones after a day of traveling and booked another place. The owner was not graceful about it either, when we went to pay for the stay, as cancelling was not possible, he got defensive and mad at us for not liking his room and would not talk to us about possibly paying just for one night instead of two.

As soon as we arrived, we left. We will not recommend this place. Angry ppl.

Great quiet location, walking distance to restaurants, lion’s rock and an amazing view point. Breakfast was incredible, bed was comfortable, and great value for money!

The toilet was a bit dump and smelly. A lot of people write about the frogs which we did have but in a place like this it is expected! Bed sheets kept sliding off too so many some fitted ones :)

Everything. A complete experience. Beautiful, natural property close to town and Lion Rock. Excellent breakfast. The best part was the lovely family who did everything to make my stay memorable.

The place is located in a peaceful and quiet part of Sigiriya. If you want to rest and enjoy the green around, it’s the right place! The family owner was lovely, they were always happy to help me, and they gave me good recommendations for Safari tour and a restaurant very close to the place

My partner and I had a very nice 3-night stay here. The owners were extremely kind and helpful, assisting in arranging our Huluru Eco Park safari, which was also great. The accomodation is also very conveniently located, being only a 20-minute walk from the base of Lion Rock. It is off the main road on a quiet street but close to restaurants and directly across the road from an amazing cooking class (cook with Sumi). We also had a private balcony with a very pretty outlook onto the garden where we got to enjoy great breakfasts. It really is like a tree house and great value for money.

Bathroom was not that clean it was wet and smelly also there was frog stuck in sink which made noise for whole night.. power issues. No ac just table fan.. breakfast is with 730 am which was too early if you are not morning person..

Super stay, in nature, calm and surrounded by green. The hosts are kind and take care of you, breakfast is excellent! Big plus is also the amazing homestay restaurant just next door, cooked in clay pots on fire all fresh!
