AKAO HOUSE

The price for the bed was reasonable and a very simple breakfast was provided. It is located very close to the downtown area with supermarkets and restaurants. The host was helpful in answering questions and giving recommendations.

The bathroom was extremely dirty and looked liked it had not been cleaned in months (mirror, shower, toilet and tissue hole). The room and bathroom are very small and the top bunk is very close to the roof. A bigger sign with the name of the hostel is needed out front to make it easier to find. There is no kitchen

Great location, nice rooms and Fabiola and her husband took care of everything we needed and were really helpful and so cordially!

I like that it's a small, family owned hostel. Fabiola and her husband are wonderful hosts. They called me a taxi 2 times at 4.30 am. I could also leave my luggage while I did the colca canyon. I've stayed in 2 different rooms. They were both comfy and clean with a desk and plenty of storage space. Laundry service is also available for a fee. Location is perfect. It's not on a noisy street still only 10 min to plaza de armas. I'd definitely stay here if I'm ever in Arequipa again.

Stayed in AKAO house for 2 nights before and after Colca Canyon trek. Fabiola and her family are such friendly people and are always able to accommodate your needs. I arrived in Arequipa at 5:30 in the morning, luckily my bed was available and they let me check in early to get some sleep. Comfy bed and hot showers. I'm really glad I chose to stay here

Really sweet owner who clearly cares a lot about her guests. They let me show up at 5am on the morning of my reservation and go right to bed after the night bus. The dorm was clean and comfortable. Good place to relax.

Maybe it's not the place for you if you want to party/socialize with other backpackers. It's more calm.

The host and her husband are very nice! Overall a great place to stay 😃,
