Maykenn Beach-Cafe Bar and Restaurant

Очень приветливый и дружелюбный персонал! Помогали по всем необходимым вопросам, отель находится у моря со своим маленьким уютным пляжем, можно завтракать с видом на море. В новогоднюю ночь было организовано гулянье со столом и живой музыкой, было очень весело!

Номера были очень чистыми и аккуратными,но полотенца после уборки меняли только по просьбе(обычно по умолчанию после уборки персонал менят их),но это мелочи. Предлагали и пляжные полотенца, но ими пользоваться можно было только на пляже отеля, а на другой пляж острова выносить нельзя было(странно, ведь мы оплатили и это услугу, да и если мы потеряли бы их,то оплатили бы). Так же на территории отеля была беседка,но там было запрещено отдыхать со своими напитками и едой, по сути вынуждали заказывать в их ресторанчике :) В новогоднюю ночь ,после ухода персонала,всех гостей и закрытия ресторанчика отельного, мы расположились за столиком во внутреннем дворике и хотели встретить НГ со своими напитками, сидели тихо,но пришел охранник и попросил нас уйти. Я понимаю,если бы работал их ресторан,а так непонятно кому мы помешали и к чему эта принципиальность. Так же хочу отметить,что море у отеля грязное,если хотите купаться и загорать-нужно ехать на противоположную часть острова, там голубая водичка и белый песочек. На байке или трицикле ехать минут 10 и стоит это копейки.

The entire staff were very friendly, informative, and always smiling. The food was excellent and the view from our room was stunning.

Very friendly staff. The owner is very nice to chat with. The food is amazing. This resort have a private beach. It’s lovely with a cocktail looking at waves.

Absolutely the best welcome ever with the owner (Mayette) and her staff providing an iced lemongrass drink. I was promptly checked into my garden room which was clean, functional, but a little on the small side. There are 8 garden rooms stacked 4 on top of 4, and 2 sea view rooms, one on top of the other (the top one being the prized accommodation due to the balcony and sea view). Mayette's business brain kicked in and she offered me the top one known as the 'honeymoon suite' which is slightly larger and has an amazing view out to the blue waters. This upgrade came in at a cool 2000PHP extra per night, but I bartered it down to 1880PHP (what the hell I'm on holiday). We decided to try the Island Hopping trip which departed from Maykenns own beach. This was facilitated by the staff at a cost of 5250PHP for us two which included a takeaway lunch. The boat was for us two exclusively. We also tried jet skiing which was great fun and managed to find a hire place a couple of hundred yards down the beach to the right. Cost was 2500PHP for half hour, I later learned that the price was way too expensive. The food, in particular the breakfast, was exceptional, and I'm a real fussy eater. Staff were amazing, in particular Jay the manager who took time to answer any questions and attend to our needs. P.S. Maykenn is named after the owners' names, Mayette and Kenneth (a Swedish gentleman who I never had the pleasure to meet)

All rooms are a bit small, even the Honeymoon Suite given its price. Automatic 7% service charge on food and drink. Being charged 150PHP for the hire of a snorkel set when island hopping. Very 'hit and miss' internet. Access is provided with little tickets with codes on, not always working. The most frustrating thing for me was that a large screen TV is provided in every room which is completely useless to anyone who doesn't speak Filipino. Even though they are smart TV's, and there's internet, the TV would only work as a TV with local channels, no Netflix, no YouTube, and I live my life off YouTube (good job I took my laptop)

Location was quiet and staff was superb! The breakfast was great and especially the homemade bread and fresh lemongrass juice. If you want some peace and quiet this is the place.

No water pressure and uncomfortable beds . Be careful not to get “any” stain on towels or linens!
